Project Summary

Musik kreativ+ combines the positive development of basic skills with other areas of competence such as musical creativity, entrepreneurship, performance and cultural collaboration. As well as classical cognitive and social areas of competence, creativity is now more in demand in the working environment. These areas of competence help to develop more divergent thought processes promoting ways of unconventional thinking. The basic characteristics of entrepreneurship are: Discovering opportunities, enforcing innovations, usage of resources and risk taking. Within the research of creativity and entrepreneurship there are similar aspects describing and supporting a musically-productive way of education. Participants have to deal with a widely varied cultural education. Self-reflection – and that of the environment, entering into dialogue with other participants, using and combining existing resources and products together with their own musical ideas. Performance, motivation, initiative and stamina are required to realize these ideas on an international level.
In IO 4 (teaching materials), building blocks were developed enabling pupils to come in to contact with other cultures with a view to create their own music productions. In this context, they have been able to develop their creativity, as well as strengthening their abilities in the areas of performance and entrepreneurship. For example: Publicizing and performing their own music productions.The focus being directed towards cooperation with cultural partners. Opportunities have been created to cooperate with cultural partners at national and international levels through appropriate teaching / learning arrangements and thus to raise awareness of European cooperation in general. The IO 4 teaching materials were structured as teacher training modules and are openly available on the IO 5 website (www.musik-kreativ-plus.eu). In order to support the teaching modules, the IO 6 teaching videos were shot and incorporated into the teaching modules.
Musik kreativ+ is comprised of 12 partners from four countries: France, Germany, Czech Republic and Hungary. Each country collaborates with the university, school and a cultural partner (ensemble). Each university is an artistic-pedagogical institution of teaching and research focused on education and advanced education of future teachers. The cultural partners profit from the immense artistic experience and reputation of each university. The participating Schools bring long-term know-how to teaching practice and include heterogeneous groups of pupils from primary schools to grammar schools.
Over a period of three years we have developed a programme for advanced teacher education using detailed steps to be realized at different stages. In year I, a conceptual draft was developed and proved in collaboration with students, lecturers and cultural partners. In year II, optimization and refinment of development in learning and teaching materials (including videos) was carried out on national level in classroom situations. Furthermore on a transnational level by exchanging, testing and evaluating materials with teachers and cultural partners. On two workshop-weekends the developed materials of all partners were collated and presented in a best-practice event. In year III the materials were optimized by a curriculum and programme for advanced teacher training. The outcomes were presented in their pilot form in each of the partner countries afterwhich they were shown in their completed form at a transnational workshop at the closing conference. 
Musik kreativ+ creates an internationally accessible, multilingual (English, German, French, Czech, Hungarian) internet platform enabling everyone to take part in projects, productions, publications, teaching and learning materials. The materials of pedagogy were implimented in European advanced teacher education. 
Each participant of the project benefited by the products, in gaining professionalism and expertise in innovative teaching. Intercultural awareness was gained by the interactioning of European partners. Key competences such as social and entrepreneurial competence, cultural awareness and cultural expression were strengthened in all partners. This led to an overall European transparency, influencing all partners and making all pedagogic materials accessible to the public. Musik kreativ+ comprises a Europe-wide learning community in music pedagogy, creativity, entrepreneurship, performance and strengthens the position of Europe’s universities on an international level.
