Project Summary
Youth unemployment is currently the main concern in many developed countries, particularly since the beginning of the economic crisis that affects the countries involved in this project. There are many problems associated with this scourge, such as the isolation, exclusion and marginalization of NEETs. In our view, the biggest challenge is to find creative and innovative solutions that promote the interest and motivation of these young people in building their own future and to empower them with essential skills that will help them overcome barriers they find in their professional career. With this project we intend to promote a deep reflection on how to motivate NEETs to participate, creating specific tools and strategies that support the youth workers in the fight against youth unemployment. One of the solutions found is the creation within the organizations of spaces that facilitate the entrepreneurial spirit, through the development of new methodologies and exploration of new professional paths, simultaneously promoting the creativity and dynamism of young people, involving them in the construction of their lives. After a research about new opportunities and taking in consideration the strengths that Erasmus + Programme gives us, we see social entrepreneurship as a way to overcome the crisis and reduce youth unemployment. We decided to include non-EU countries because the partner organizations have a huge experience in social and communitarian projects, that will be an open-minder to the participants, giving them the opportunity to learn new work methodologies, to experience different work fields and to create new market linkages with regions outside Europe. This is the added value of this project, to give real possibilities to the youngsters and all the support they need to put in practice their ideas. We will empower the youth workers with important skills and all the knowledge and tools to support the youngsters in the implementation of their ideas. With this they can create Youth Academies (social projects and enterprises incubators) in each partner organizations that will work together, creating a Youth Network for Social Entrepreneurship, which will promote not only the support to the development of new social projects, as a start point for the youngsters, but also the sharing of best practices and the opening of the concept to new entities. This space will contribute to the creation of social, economical and cultural conditions that promote, support and increase the continuing qualification of entrepreneurship, facilitating the transformation of the knowledge into business ideas, through creative, innovative and internationalization strategies. Initially, NEETs that participates in the bootcamps will be the main beneficiaries, but in a second phase, and after obtain specific training, they will themselves be mentors of other young people. With this we will promote the peer learning as a methodology and the creation of new jobs.
