Project Summary

Europe must be prepared for the necessary energy change planned for the coming years. This new low carbon energy plan passes sustainability, energy efficiency and use of renewable energy ((COM (2013) 253 final). In this sense, hydrogen produced by renewable way plays a key role in this new energy scheme.
According to “fuel Cell Today” (2010) fuel cells industry provides a growth potential of up to 500,000 direct jobs in 2020 within the EU. These workers must have a specific qualification for development, implementation and deployment of these technologies.
The overall objective of Hy2Green is to offer a specific training program for new professionals adapted to the new energy models based on ICT and it is oriented to employment for these profiles.
Project phases and objectives:
Initially will identify the markets niches with higher potential of implementation and determination of most demanded profiles (O1).
Furthermore, Hy2Green will identify the technical knowledge and skills required for these profiles and innovative training methodologies to implement on the program. First, a planning of the training process (learning environment, teaching staff, organizational variables) oriented to the industry needs will be develop. Secondly, a Methodology Guide will be developed and adapted to the identified gaps (proposed activities, analysis of new scenarios and resources, evaluation methods, bibliographic / Telematics / legislative references). Results obtained at this step will form the intellectual product (O2).
It is noted that Hy2Green will have into account the views of stakeholders at all steps. In this sense a focus group among entrepreneurs, trainers and students of these subjects, will provide feedback and comments and will test project result´s.
Hy2Green bets for the digital technologies besides facilitating the understanding of concepts, promote accessibility to training, they optimize resources invested in training and also allow the realization of laboratory practices remotely using innovative techniques to control robot arms, simulators or augmented reality. Moreover, it is offered the possibility to realize laboratory practices face-to-face or short stay in the participating Universities. 4 Universities of 3 Members States specialized in training in energy technologies that already have innovative training methodologies (UHU, UNED, UCY and USGM) and 3 highly innovative companies (ARIEMA, INOMA, MAHYTEC), work together to provide an innovative and training program resources to these profiles, oriented to employability, efficiency and accessibility training.
All training materials (O3) (MOOCs, podcasts, modules practices in remote laboratories, educational multimedia: animations, 3D, virtual reality, ebooks …) will be available in a Moodle platform accessible via the website of the project through generating user profiles provide customized training. Especially interesting is that this platform will be easily integrated into the training systems of the European Universities, also allowing updating contents and the incorporation of new ones, which will promote the replicability and continuity of use of project results.
Hy2Green has a clear focus on the employability of students to train within the area of these topics. That’s why a collaborative network of universities, companies and students, that propitiate the realization of input from the industry on the demand for new knowledges and facilitate the implementation of business practices and employability of participating students. These networks will be connected with other clean technologies networks in order to multiply the results exploitation. Under Hy2Green project there will also be a training pilot focused on “training for trainers” thus creating a group of trained professionals to schedule and execute highly specialized training around the new profiles required by the industry in this field and a training activity for students in order to validate the program developed in Hy2Green.
Hy2Green aims to ensure the impact, use and continuity of the project results. In this sense, will share:
1) The process (social networks, platforms, participatory instrumental services).
2) Training resources generated.
3) The results (Intellectual products and electronic informative publications, through social networks, blogs, wikis, web platform, press publications, etc.).
Hy2Green will generate a direct impact on the training of professionals in renewable hydrogen and climate change generating a “germ” training, expandable and ease of integration for all EU agents and other associated countries who so wish, favoring the deployment of energy technologies that promote a low carbon economy.
