Project Summary
“Open innovative resources for filmmaking education and training (OIRFET)” is a strategic partnership between four film schools (PWSTTViF from Łódź, Poland, FAMU from Prague, VSMU from Bratislava and ADU from Zagreb).
The Partnership was formed to improve teaching programs of film editing and to create an innovative, open-source, Internet film resources for students and teachers. The materials will consist of dedicated film files and teaching programs that correspond with them. THE Materials were created in the course of a three-year intensive cooperation of 24 lecturers and 85 students of film editing and other faculties, both during four international workshops and while working on coordinated film production and preparation of materials at each university.
In addition, students will take part in a series of workshops enabling them to develop such skills as planning educational and professional path and working in an international environment.
The most important result of the project is creating an open-source online resource of footage developed for film production didactics
During this partnership:
• creative film workshops took place (4), during which students and academic staff learned how to create and created film materials devoted to film education;
• intensive international workshops were organized (4), during which students and lecturers reviewed the work of each group. In particular, the group examined how this methodology can be used to develop the student’s practical skills in order to support professional young filmmakers;
• 4 didactic films were created, 4 teaching programs and 1 manual on creating didactic film materials;
• an open, online database of didactic film materials was launched and widely promoted;
• the results were disseminated through an intensive information campaign at the local and international level;
• information about the possibilities of using the Erasmus + program was spread and the work on new initiatives has begun.
The activities selected were implemented through non-formal learning, e.g. workshops/group work using creative film-making methodologies, brainstorms, team building, intercultural activities, planning and networking.
As a result of the project, an open-source, freely accessible database of film materials and accompanying film-making tools for both schools and self-taught artists has been be created. The Project results in the professionalization in film education, a closer cooperation between film schools and in increasing the accessibility of film education for everyone.
