Project Summary
The “(Un)safely on the Net” project reflects the current needs of the society and employers. Its goal is to foster, through innovative intellectual outcomes, awareness about topics such as critical thinking, media literacy and safe use of the Internet, and to foster the development of competences in these areas, primarily among young people and youth workers.
The project will involve partners and experts from Slovakia and the Czech Republic. Two intellectual outputs will be created during the implementation of the project and several educational and multiplication events will be realized.
Created Intellectual Outputs:
1. Publication – A Guide to Developing Critical Thinking, Media Literacy and How to Work Safely Online. The handbook will also contain information on how to work with these topics using non-formal learning methods and techniques.
2. Interactive Web Application – An Interactive Portal for the Development of Critical Thinking and Media Literacy, which, in addition to bringing a consise information on this topic, will serve to develop critical thinking, support argumentation and search for relevant resources and information on solved themes. It will also help young people to engage in different themes and to monitor the information and resources people watch and how they evaluate them.
The dissemination of results, verification of outcomes in practice and gathering of stimuli will be carried out by the multiplication and educational activities among young people, youth workers and teachers who work with these topics. During the project we will run 15 workshops involving at least 350 participants, an international two-phase training for 20 participants and two final conferences – one in Slovakia and one in the Czech Republic. The conferences will focus on presenting project outputs and results, informing about the web application features, establishing partnerships, and working with participants from different sectors who are dedicated to and supporting youth work.
The concept of the project, designed in this way, is to ensure the production of quality outputs, verified in practice and ready for their use and implementation even after the end of the project.
