Project Summary
CONTEXT
Student acquisition on soft skills which is also one of the main objectives of EU 2020(European Comission,2010)is vital in today’s global market. Many employers would like to have workers who have posses hard and soft skills together. In fact, there can be said that a work environment is matter of fact that soft skills (communication, teamwork, problem-solving, leadership, creativity)are hard to find, these skills appeal to employees more important than finding employers with hard skills. In the last few years many studies highlighted the problem of the labour market in terms of mismatching between the jobs and the employees. They report a skill shortage among employees.Such skills are malleable at an early age rather than age of maturity. The main problem is that soft skills are considered as inborn skills. However, some individuals have already these skills by birth, some others can acquire them over time by education and If the students discuss, analyze, have modelling, they begin to develop their soft skills in school environment.ıf they can gain these abilities, they will have more chance of finding good jobs matching their abilities.Furthermore, they can build good relationships which is crucial in their social life.This-2 years- project named “TOO HARD TO BE SOFT?”,composed of 5 partners(Turkey,Lithuania,Portugal,Poland and Italy),which stems from the needs identified in all partner schools deals with the promoting high school students’ soft skills. Our aim is to foster students’ soft skills besides the hard ones as schools to make them more successful and happier in their social and work lives with the help of this project.
