Project Summary
We want to enrol in the ERASMUS + community program by offering our 20 students (11 girls and 9 boys – 17 years old) of “1ère baccalauréat sciences et technologies de l’agronomie et du vivant” (agronomy and life science course) the opportunity to participate in a cultural and professional exchange with vocational students from the agricultural school in Sabac that we know well, Serbia being a candidate country for future membership of the European Union. The potential partIcipants will be required to write a letter explaining why they are interested in this project with the Serbian students as well as describing specific proposals they would like to implement; they will be selected on the basis of their letter. This procedure will be identical for the Serbian students.
By associating a French agricultural high school and a foreign agricultural high school, our objectives are to deepen the social and educational values of the European cultural heritage, to take into account the European dimension as a whole, identify the potential for jobs linked to economic growth, take into consideration the environment and climate change. To collaborate more efficiently, it will be essential to speak in English and to have regular exchanges between our 2 entities using the appropriate digital tools, for example eTwinning or Teams.
Learning activities will focus on the following points:
1- The knowledge of European cultural heritage organised by 2 teams of 2 teachers: 1 history-geography teacher and 1 economics teacher from each institution. During every exchange visit, we will arrange 4 hours of lessons, thematic visits and the creation of a slide show coordinated by M Charrier and Mme Billot with their French students in the framework of units C5 and S2 of the “bac stav”.
2- Taking into account the environment and the economy by listing the actions implemented in both countries. 4 hours of lessons together and the creation of a slide show, supervised by the agronomy, life science and history-geography teachers.
3- What are the impacts of climate change and what can we do to stop this phenomenon on a local or even regional level? Creation of a slide show and an exhibition, overseen by agronomy, life science and history-geography teachers.
All of these points will be complemented by specialist speakers, exhibitions and field visits in both countries.
Safety will be ensured thanks to a team of 2 teachers.
The project will be assessed in each of the schools with written and oral tests in associated disciplines (agronomy, life science, history, geography, modern languages, economics and socio-cultural education).
The blog or collaborative digital newspaper will be assessed progressively throughout the project. In addition, a survey for families, elected officials, teachers and students will allow a complete assessment of our actions at the end of the project.
The communication department of the Etablières school, in liaison with Sabac high school will handle communication. We have the necessary skills for disseminating information on social media, eTwinning, Teams or in local, regional and national press. We will publish our results within our networks: La Roche sur Yon, Sabac, the Catholic education authorities, CNEAP (National Council of Private Agricultural Education) and the Ministry of Education in Serbia. We will also participate in thematic workshops about school exchanges to present our experience to fellow teachers or headmasters / headmistresses. Indeed, this is one of our obligations, the fifth mission of agricultural education being international cooperation.
This project is part of a rapprochement that we set up with Serbia 6 years ago and will represent an additional link to perpetuate it. Involving high school students, teachers, elected officials and economic players will help to promote collaborative work, which is not commonplace, between our organisations. We hope that this project, with its activities concerning institutions, heritage, the environment and global warming – current issues on local, national and European levels – will also make it possible to get closer to other European institutions and share our experience.
