Project Summary

RATIONALE:
There is a fragmented approach towards social entrepreneurship support in adults sector in the Baltic Sea region. A network of organisations supporting social entrepreneurship in the Baltic Sea countries did not officially exist before Erasmus+ project “Social entrepreneurship development in Baltic Sea region” (SEBS) 2014-2016. The SEBS project also established the OER www.socialenterprisebsr.net e-platform as a tool for regional knowledge, sharing and networking. Knowledge about successful SE support was not formerly shared in between the countries. Establish OER was developed and updated further on from 2017 up to date via implementing the project “Improvement of the social entrepreneurship networking and educational possibilities in the Baltic Sea region” project (No. 2017-1-LV01-KA204-035413).

The proposed project is the continuation and extend of the established network and maintenance of the www.socialenterprisebsr.net e-platform (including platform’ s YouTube channel and social media channels) to secure sharing of knowledge and learning among existing social enterprises, potential SE startups and other stakeholders.

THE OBJECTIVE:
Build on the experiences from Erasmus+ projects “Social entrepreneurship development in Baltic Sea region (SEBS)” and “Improvement of the social entrepreneurship networking and educational possibilities in the Baltic Sea region (No. 2017-1-LV01-KA204-035413) that were executed under the Erasmus+ program and co-financed by the European Union. The objective of the project is to continue the maintaining, development and widening of new network and share of best practice by promotion, education, advocacy and research about social entrepreneurship within Baltic Sea region countries.

THE NEEDS:
– Need for further connection of Baltic Sea region organisations, supporting social entrepreneurship and related education;
– Need for maintaining created common learning and knowledge sharing platform for organisations, supporting SE and social entrepreneurs in The Baltic Sea region (www.socialenterprisebsr.net);
– Need for widespread and promotion of social entrepreneurship among society;
– Need for better regional cohesion by applying social entrepreneurship.

MAIN PROJECT ACTIVITIES:
a) continue building network;
b) maintain and update the OER www.socialenterprisebsr.net e-platform, and project social media channels and its dissemination;
c) dissemination and promotion of the e-platform.
– number of articles in blog – at least 40 new articles during 2 years period.
– at least 40-50 posts with educational content.
– at least 5 more collaboration tools will be entered.
– at least 10 support mechanisms will be described.
– at least 100 new social enterprises are planned to join network – and will be included in the database.
– at least 2 impact measurement methodologies will be described.
– at least 5 webinars organised/entered in the platform.
– at least 1-5 new organisations supporting SE.
d) 3 transnational meetings organised.
e) 15 articles about project published.

TARGET GROUP:
Project intends to work mainly with adults, targeting new and existing social entrepreneurs. As secondary target audience has to be mentioned public institutions, NGO’s, HEI’s and other stakeholders.

BENEFITS/IMPACT:
The main impact expected to have a wider visibility and support towards social entrepreneurship in Baltic Sea region, foster availability of social entrepreneurship education in adult sector, stimulate cohesion of different regions of Europe. More specific impact is expected as:

– wider acceptance of social entrepreneurship at the Baltic Sea regional level;
– improvement of essential educational support towards educational needs at social entrepreneurship sector in the Baltic Sea region;
– diffuse of social entrepreneurship knowledge within region to stimulate SE in development in the region;
– improvement of networking possibilities within sector;
– better networking, socialisation among partnering organisations involved in the SE support, including establishment of stable network and knowledge sharing source.
