Home Decor plays an important economic role. In this sector employment today is 8 million European jobs. It rises quality of life, social cohesion, inclusion and intercultural dialogue.
“Home Decor-vocational skills to decorate indoor spaces” is 24 months Erasmus+ strategic partnership project KA 2 VET focused on the exchange of good practice. The consortium is a mix of appropriate complementary 5 institutions with the necessary profile, experiences and expertise to deliver all aspects of the project, coming from different fields of educations and trainings including newcomers to this action: PL(foundations-vet profile), TR ( public school for adults), BG (professional high school of building constructions-newcomer), PT (SME-home decor business). Newcomer hasn’t participated in ERASMUS+ projects, but it has vocational experiences in home decor arrangements. Partners declared to work on modern home design with the traditional elements in the context of inclusion and entrepreneurship.

Our objectives are:
-increase staff and learners competences in home decor design;
-develop and promote modern home design combining with tradition coming from participating countries;
-show the importance of the home design and handicraft for inclusive training purposes for migrants and local socially excluded people;
-increase the knowledge and staff skills of modern design, new materials and techniques with traditional elements and pass them to last beneficiaries;
-teach the way to create small business based on the example of good practices from participating countries and its contribution to the local economy;
-develop tolerance between nations and increase intercultural dialogue without any prejudices.

The project develop teaching and learning strategies of techniques in modern design with traditional elements among staff: decorative concrete and moss wall panels (PL), wall coffers(BG), wooden decorations, stained glass (TR), modern ceramic decorations (PL) and all kind of “soft” home decoration, like carpets/rugs, tablecloths, bed covers and azulejos tiles (PT) as tools for training and social integration and as activities leading to inclusive learning environments. It is also the track to combine modernity with tradition.

Two parallel target groups will be involved: staff and end-users.
Staff from all countries desire to getting know new vocational techniques, open new channels for international collaboration, improve project management.
Training actions will be addressed to migrants and local people endangered of social exclusion (unemployed at any age, low-skilled women at age 50+, low-educated people, VET school students). Their needs are to gain new skills to find a job and assimilate in own local environment as active workers. That is why this partnership will develop training paths for an inclusive educational approach in VET.
Staff of participating organisations in the project, on the basis of their previous experiences will identify tools and work placement methods. These approaches will be based on achieving work-based learning and producing tangible joint outcomes, training material and tools.

To achieve project aims the consortium will organize these activities: 1 training course for staff (PT) and 3 international project meetings (PL, BG, TR). Partners will organize workshops, study visits, local meetings for staff and learners to exchange good practice to communicate and share experiences.
The consortium will organize dissemination activities with the involvement of local stakeholders, other vocational institutions, VET profile NGOs to make project impact more sustainable.
Partners will apply the best methods in home decor design and production in own countries and in Europe. The main methods will be learning together, with each other and by each other.

Tangible results: logo, poster, leaflet, E-Brochure, video-clips as tutorials of process of home decor work, Power Point of best practice, Project Facebook page, many long-lasting inclusive home decor workshops, entrepreneurship and ICT lessons.

The workshops carried out at a local level in each participating country will motivate migrants and social excluded people to meet and learn together in a collaborative way and to acquire knowledge of rules and habits of their hosting societies in a direct and informal key.
The project will reach relevant stakeholders of local communities in home decor. They will be involved in local activities and will bring their knowledge of home decor techniques.

The impact will be on target groups, stakeholders and all other actors. It will be visible in increasing home decor skills and competences among staff and learners.
All organisations and stakeholders will improve collaboration on the European level and include in their curriculum new project approaches.
One member of each organisation will be charged to carry out follow up activities after the project end as the sustainability of the project results.
