Project Summary
The project idea targets students in lower secondary level of education between the ages of 11-15 years and pedagogical professionals who teach subjects included in the main curriculum. The basic idea of this project proposal is to develop and introduce in the lower secondary level of education in Bulgaria an innovative multisectoral approach that through the setting of project tasks combines the knowledge of students from all the subject studied in the curriculum, which will lead to the acquisition of practical skills for coping with real life situations. The project idea could be implemented in every Bulgarian and European school without carrying an additional financial and operational burden for the schools. The multisectoral approach can be implemented in any school without the need to add hours to the curriculum, without the need for additional pedagogical professionals and a special program. The multisectoral approach is in line with the established curriculum, and the tasks it sets are students’ acquiring skills to cope with real life situations by integrating knowledge from all the subjects studied. The multisectoral approach will be developed by drawing up rules for developing a single didactic guide, a methodology for initial, intermediate and subsequent evaluation. The information about the approach will be disseminated through a campaign on social networks, media events and developing an online platform (website). The introduction of the multisectoral approach will be done through a sample task and case database and a synthesized multimedia course. The estimated period for pilot implementation of the multisectoral approach in two Bulgarian schools is three school years. Upon completion of the project, all online platforms will continue to exist and project organizations will continue to act for implementing the approach in more schools.
