Project Summary
The project proposal “Prevention of Social Disintegration through the Forms of Arts and Crafts” focuses on the various forms of arts and crafts, such as powerful tools for non-formal learning, social engagement, activation and inclusion, and a possible source for community connectivity. The project partners have developed their own approaches and good practices in working with target groups such as the disabled, orphans, minority groups, children, students, young people and adults in urban and rural areas, based on different arts and crafts that they want to exchange between for the benefit of their organizations, of the main and vulnerable young people and of the communities to which they belong. The project’s intervention is in line with the Europe 2020 Smart, Sustainable and Inclusive Growth Strategy and its stated objectives of social inclusion and employment growth for people aged 20-64
The goals of the project are:
– developing and strengthening the capacity of partner organizations to provide non-formal learning;
– promoting social inclusion of vulnerable groups through the various arts and crafts;
– enhancing the capacity of beneficiaries to work internationally by sharing ideas, creativity and good practices;
– enhancing cooperation in the implementation and promotion of related effective and innovative art practices at local, regional, national and international levels;
– developing important skills and abilities of staff members and trainees, such as personal, social and learning skills, civic competences, entrepreneurial competences, expression skills, etc .;
– engaging in performing artistic activities to enhance the creative skills, abilities and motivation of people in disadvantaged groups.
The project will have a total of 44 mobilities, including members, staff, facilitators and other creative and administrative associates of the project partners, representatives of less-favored social groups with which partner organizations work.
Project activities include:
– three (initial and two regular) transnational project meetings to address organizational issues and track progress;
– a short-term mobility for sharing, through joint training, to present good practices to employees in various arts forms, methods and techniques appropriate for non-formal learning and social activation, assisting the social inclusion of vulnerable groups;
– a short-term exchange of adults “ACTS with social cause”, which will be included in its inclusive practices based on the performing arts and crafts – and will provide to the representatives of the final beneficiaries of the project the shared know-how of the project partners art techniques and creative processes appropriate to promote the social causes of those involved;
– project management, follow-up and information and dissemination activities at national implementation / European level.
The project methodology is based on various arts and crafts as useful methods for non-formal learning, social activation and inclusion and eventual employment of vulnerable disadvantaged groups.
The project results foresee:
– observed, shared and accepted best practices of partner organizations on the topic of the project;
-their acquaintance and mastering the application of different forms of art in joint creativity for social causes (which will be added to their creative portfolios);
-Preparation of a sample curriculum for a training course based on the know-how gathered in the field of different arts of the project partners;
-Testing the practical know-how of partner organizations in practice by working with an international group of participants during the exchange of “ACTS with social cause” (including showing the product of their collective creative work to the public through a spectacle created by the participants in the project);
– follow-up activities in partner countries leading to similar results at local, regional, national and international levels;
– activities to promote the potential of participation in various forms of art such as many useful for work, education and motivation for social inclusion.
The expected impact is on: the project participants who will develop their artistic and organizational competencies and apply the learning outcomes. On the members of partner organizations, on local communities, on didactic and educational ways applicable in social work.
