Project Summary

In a Europe where international openness has been declared a priority in both initial and vocational training, the integration of recognised and validated mobility experiences into the training path of learners is more than ever an important issue, so our project is part of this essential priority.

In response to this priority and on the basis of the analysis of the needs formulated by all the partners involved in this project, the main objectives are as follows:

– Develop recognition of learning mobility by using tools for the recognition and validation of learning outcomes obtained abroad. The aim will be to compare different experiences in the partner countries and to develop a “Mention Europe” attached to the level 4 Pastry diploma.

– Integrate companies in the assessment and validation process. The sending and host companies will be involved and will jointly build tools and methodology for assessing the skills of pastry learners.

– Create a “decision support” guide indicating assessment procedures involving companies, practical advice for the recognition of learning mobility’s organisation delivering a “Europe mention”.

– Provide recommendations for the registration of the “Europe mention” in the BTM Pâtissier regulation and recommendations for the transfer to other craft certifications of the European partners.

In addition, pastry learners’ mobility stays will be organised in order to test the assessment process put in place with the aim of delivering the “European mention” attached to the certification. Seven grants for learners and one grant for the tutor are planned in this project, with a larger number of learners participating in this test phase – with grants that will be mobilised through the KA1 project, in which the partners are already involved.

Participants and sending and hosting companies will be prepared and accompanied in this test phase. The company and the learner will be at the heart of the assessment process. The results carried out after the periods of mobility will be an important part of the writing of recommendations for the implementation of the “Mention Europe” as well as the construction of the “decision support” guide dedicated to the assessment framework.

The expected deliverables are as follows:

– A digital “decision support” guide on the issue of assessment and recognition of skills worked on during mobility
– Recommendations for the registration of the “Europe mention” in the BTM Pâtissier regulation

Methodological approach

During the life phase of the project, 4 transnational meetings will be planned in order to structure the exchange between the partners. They will have a “peer-learning seminar” format and will demonstrate a collaborative mode.

In addition, the project will be organized in 5 WGs:

WG1: Project Management
WG2: Project evaluation, impact assessment and dissemination
WG3: “Assessment procedures for a ‘mention Europe’ to be attached to a VET certification”
WG4: “Implementation / Mobility testing and assessment”
WG5: “decision support” guide / recommendations

Our project will thus have an impact on participants and also on companies by placing the recognition of learning outcomes obtained by the learner during a mobility at the heart of the system. Thanks to this project, the partners will deepen their mutual knowledge of the training systems in the partner countries, can exchange and observe different practices in order to inspire each other. They also strengthen mutual trust and enrich the skills of the pedagogical teams.

At national level, the main impact will be the final registration and generalisation of a European dimension in the regulation of certifiers and a possible transfer to other qualifications/jobs.

At European level, the expected impact remains mainly to develop cooperation for excellence in the recognition and transfer of skills developed during international mobility.

In order to ensure wide dissemination and visibility of the project, several communication actions will be set up in France and in Europe, such as communication via the websites of our partners, communication actions organised as part of Erasmus Days, or the promotion of the decision-support guide on the assessment of the learners during their mobility period, with recommendations on the implementation of the “Mention Europe”.
