Project Summary

The COVID-19 pandemic has disrupted education systems across the world. The pandemic has exposed the need to strengthen learning and teaching infrastructure and technologies and to provide teachers and students with resources needed to adapt to a digital environment. The pandemic has also increased uncertainty and challenges in the economic and financial landscape, highlighting the importance of economic competences for securing economic and financial resilience.

Our objective is to equip senior school youth and teachers in Lithuania, Slovakia and Greece with innovative quality resources to engage in interactive distant learning and teaching of economics. ECONQUIZ will provide ingenious digital content and tool for cultivating economic literacy necessary for the rising generation to become productive and contributing members of the 21st society.

We will create engaging educational quizzes for interactive distant learning of economics for late teenagers aged 15 to 19. Through an interactive digital platform our novel educational quizzes with supporting commentaries and feedback will engage school youth in exploring questions that will relate economic principles to teenagers’ everyday lives through practical contexts. ECONQUIZ will serve as an effective approach to incentivize motivation and engagement in distant learning.

Our primary target group is school youth aged 15 to 19. We will address their needs to study in an interactive digital environment and to cultivate economic literacy for better understanding of the economic reality and competences necessary to embrace economic opportunities and challenges in everyday life.

Our secondary audience are economics teachers. The project will help them to enhance learners’ motivation and performance in distant learning and to improve ICT-based teaching capacity.

The ECONQUIZ project will involve development and dissemination of interactive online educational quizzes for engaging economic study.

During the life of the project 16,500 upper secondary school youth aged 15 to 19 will use ECONQUIZ for learning purposes in Lithuania, Slovakia and Greece. We expect to see a 10-percent increase on-year in the number of users after project completion.

By virtue of its innovation and digitalisation, the project has the potential to enhance distant learning and economic education among late teenage learners. ECONQUIZ will be scalable across and beyond secondary school and readily replicable in other countries.

The project reflects the horizontal priorities of Innovative practices in the digital era and Supporting individuals in acquiring and developing key competences.
