Project Summary
The aim of the “Re + vita – Revitalization through Culture” project is to activate residents in order to restore or give rural areas new functions, animating social and cultural life – through creative culture, cooperation, communication and creativity. The specific objective is: supporting local social development, education through cultural heritage, culture, economic, environmental and safety, including health.
The participants of the project will be (190 people from the Lubelskie and Podlaskie voivodeships) representatives of: Cultural Centers, Rural Housewives’ Clubs, OSP, local associations, local institutions, regional representatives of municipal self-governments and two national and two foreign partners (Spain, Belgium) guaranteeing a wide presentation of solutions functioning in the partner country (culture vesus revitalization), tested in the EU. Target groups (members of Cultural Centers, rural housewives’ clubs, Volunteer Fire Department, local associations) who, through creative self-learning, together with representatives of Cultural Centers, will acquire new social competences and, through creative culture, develop cooperation models for the province. Podlasie and Lublin.
There is a lack of modern, long-term tools, methods, models for acquiring and improving social competences – residents. There is also a lack of a tool for planning the development of their communes through culture and education, which would ensure the continued – continuous – activity of the inhabitants.
The result of the project will include:
– a developed and tested support model, including cultural and educational support – learning through experience and participation – the final product of the project;
– transfer of knowledge and experience from partners (with regard to the new instrument for supporting culture and revitalization);
– increasing the institutional efficiency of entities involved in development – a new complementary instrument for supporting residents (a tool based on jointly
developed standard and operating procedure – product);
– activation of local leaders and non-governmental organizations operating in the environment;
– minimizing the phenomenon of social exclusion among people at risk of social exclusion, including youth;
– development and promotion of good practices in the scope of undertaken revitalization initiatives of local importance;
– developing a model of environmental activities based on the cooperation of various institutions and organizations as well as residents;
– creating conditions for the creation of initiatives and structures functioning for the benefit of local communities;
– popularization of various forms of social activation of local communities;
The long-term result of the project will be the inclusion in public policy and social activation of its participants and communities, and the promotion of the idea of creating theme villages,
integrating residents around a common idea and mobilizing them to accept responsibility not only for their own fate, but also for the shape of the environment in which they live. The result will be
it also concerned public policies, which cannot be focused solely on meeting the needs of the inhabitants on an ongoing basis, but should also take into account the functioning of
rural areas in several or several dozen years.
Persons qualified for the project will participate in study visits, trainings and workshops, both foreign and domestic, during which they will develop a new model (product innovation) for overcoming barriers and problems on the basis of the Revitalization Plans and Programs (organizational and process innovation) diagnosed in the two voivodeships.
The model will be confirmed by the results of the pilot application of the innovation (testing – showing its advantage or deficiencies over the current practice). The development of the model was divided into phases:
Phase I. Initial recognition of the local environment;
Phase II. Environmental diagnosis;
Phase I and II national meetings 15 people Podlaskie / 15 people Lublin. Departure of participants for foreign mobility – 15 people in Podlasie / 15 people in Lublin
Phase III. Creating a model Local workshops 16 group X 10 people parallel to Podlasie / Lublin;
Phase IV. Activities – foreign mobility of participants 8 group x 10 people Podlaskie / Lubelskie;
Phase V. Evaluation; Phase VI. Leaving the environment / changing the role of an animator.
Development / adoption of 2 models of creative culture, Podlaskie Voivodeship and Lubelskie Voivodeship + dissemination of the model in Poland and internationally.
