Project Summary

The project is organized by young people coming from Spain, Turkey, and Poland in order to share good practices related to sustainable life and SDGs. We are interested in how SDGs affect developing behaviors in different cultures and societies and how good exchange can be promoted together. It aims to create new positive changes and behaviors among youth participants and provide an environment that young people’s ideas can be discussed and observed in order to enable them to develop new behaviors that are in the favor of Sustainable Development Goals.
Participants aged between 16-30 selected among young people who have the desire to grow and openness to change and who want to take responsibility and dedicate themselves to sustainability development. Each country will have 10 people including coordinators, mentors, trainers, and participants and during the blended mobilities, there will 30 people. The project will be carried over for 2 years. During the project, four mobilities and two transnational meetings are being planned to carry out. AGU SDG Student Hub will organize the first transnational meeting, and it will include only coordinators and trainers. Two important goals of this meeting are that we want to get to know each other closely and explain and organize what we are planning to carry out during the project, what are our goals, and what kind of activities should be carried out. KobieTy will carry out two blended mobility in Poland. While the first one is aiming to introduce SDGs and train our participants regarding the tools that will be used throughout the project, in the second mobility, we will exchange good practices and boost visibility. Moreover, EoEo will organize one blended mobility on gamification and one transnational meeting before the closing mobility to complete the final evaluation. Finally, the last mobility will be organized by AGU SDG Student Hub, and it will touch upon all SDGs and our local activities’ results which will be used to create a guide composed of achievable daily life goals/activities to make sure each individual can contribute to the achievement of SDGs. Besides these mobilities, each country will organize local activities about SDGs. We are planning to work on each goal, and there will be presentations, workshops, outdoor activities, dramas that include these goals.
The project is carried out transnationally because SDGs which create the framework of the project apply to our common problems even though we expose them in different ways and levels. Moreover, we want to promote the engagement of young people and connect them around these common problems to discuss their ideas and create more solutions for our goals. In addition, we want to make sure the sustainability of our project by using calendars which will serve as habit trackers to help participants to integrate SDGs into their life. Also, with our guide, we will carry out this impact beyond our project and will be able to make our impact analysis.
In the end, we are expecting to see a permanent change in our participants’ behaviors and habits towards a sustainable lifestyle. Also, the intercultural environment will enable us to exchange cultural perspectives that will affect our way of living and to observe the reflection of the same issues in different cultures. Overall, we are envisaging that the project will have an impact beyond raising awareness and it will empower young people to take action starting from an individual level. Moreover, our project team will have unique coordination and training experience in order to become strong young social leaders for change. We will develop ourselves as mentors and give mentoring to our participants to develop their own ideas, moreover, their own association that could support them further in becoming change-makers and activists of Sustainable Development Goals. One of the long-term benefits of the project is that we will have an experience of how to manage a long-term transnational project and it will for sure enhance our professional life. Moreover, two functioning SDG Hubs planned to be established in KobieTy and EoEo will provide long-term benefits to their local environment and people.
In conclusion, this project is significant to point out ongoing situations in world related sustainable development goals. We believe that even small changes in a small group of youth can change so many things and this project will help us to be able to have an impact on individual’s lives.
