Project Summary
The WE GET project offers a combination of innovative tools and training materials that will support would-be and young entrepreneur women in the process of innovating, improving and up scaling their professional careers from their own business ideas in order to enter and be competitive in the current labour market. Over the last years, entrepreneurship has shown its potential to be the engine for innovation, competitiveness and economic growth in any society. Acknowledging this fact, the European Commission’s “Entrepreneurship 2020 Action Plan” is a means of tackling the economic crisis with actions that strengthen and boost small and medium businesses and enterprises by focusing on entrepreneurial culture and education.
WE GET will empower women by raising their soft skills attainment, especially those related to creativity, persuasion and innovation; improving their digital and ICT skills, and, at the same time, boost their business and professional careers, which facilitates their upscaling in the labour market.
The project will also directly target educators working with women so that they are equipped according to their learners’ needs and demands. Educators will learn how to deal with the skills mismatch of would-be and young women entrepreneur through new and innovative educational materials, dealing with topics such as digitalisation, internationalization or change management. WE GET will contribute to an empowerment of adult educators by reinforcing their knowledge and skills regarding digital teaching/learning to engage adult women into lifelong education through effective guidance and mentoring throughout their entrepreneurial journey.
Indirectly, the partnership aims to reach out any organisation working with women, especially education and training centres, public bodies (business bodies, Social Service departments, etc.) or international bodies active in the field of adult education and training.
The project envisages the development of the following products:
·An open education resource to embed all products to be developed within the project.
·A competence self-assessment tool for would be and young entrepreneurs women who want to start their own business reconciling it with their family and house duties, including home-based businesses.
·A Dual e-Kit with two sections: one targeting educators and another targeting would-be and young entrepreneur women.
·6 modules with teaching/learning materials for adult educators –within Part I of the Dual e-Kit– about leadership, innovation, creativity, and change management models, business women professional profiles, etc.
·An e-library –within Part II of the Dual e-Kit– with collected and systematized information about existing funding, education and training opportunities and initiatives for entrepreneur women at national and EU level.
·6 e-workshops –within Part II of the Dual e-Kit– about leadership, innovation, creativity, and change management models, businesspersons professional profiles, etc.
·An “E-portal” embedding an online “Women entrepreneur Webinar-cycle” and an e-gallery with inspirational successful businesspersons from partner countries
·An awareness campaign to promote the e-portal including the open “Women entrepreneur Webinar-cycle” and the e-gallery with inspirational videos.
Thus, the project will promote an entrepreneurial culture in partner communities, which will be extended at EU level thanks to the transnational scope of the project. In the long-term, the partnership expects to raise the appreciation of the need (and consequent benefits) of lifelong training for entrepreneurs and, thus, of its potential as an economic growth vehicle. By improving the provision and assessment of transversal skills (soft and digital ones in particular) through a better alienation of the needs and opportunities for women who have to stay at home due to family and household reasons, the WE GET project will boost their soft, digital and entrepreneurial skills and business competences. There will be created closer links to businesses, women who wish to improve their business efficiency by setting up an innovative training that guarantees an added value in sustaining/promoting their businesses and the community.
