Project Summary

Silence protects the wrong people – Quality Alliance without Borders to protect against sexualised violence in sport

Violence has many faces: abuse of power, verbal, physical and psychological injuries. Sexualised violence – subtle or brutal, against body and soul, changeable and elusive – is everywhere in life, including sports.
The earlier we deal with sexualised violence, the more visible it becomes, the less it can unsettle us, the more we can act effectively. The timely dealing with any incidents that may occur prevents excessive demands and uncertainty and at the same time ensures a factually appropriate approach.

The Quality Alliance Sport NRW

The prevention and intervention capabilities of all those responsible are the basic concern of the Quality Association. The association is based on an initiative of the Landessportbund NRW and the NRW Ministry of Sport. No state borders are to be set for this alliance. Potential perpetrators should also be given a signal beyond the borders will be: We’ll look very closely!
Task:
– Develop clear criteria and measures against sexualised violence in organised sport.
– The voluntary commitment of all members to make child protection and the prevention of sexualised violence a permanent task
– to include children’s and youth interests in counselling and prevention work from the outset through the youth board of associations.

About the quality association for membership:
The Quality Alliance organises information events for all interested parties, which introduce the general problem of transgressions and sexual violence in sports and point out prevention steps.

The associations as future alliance partners
The transnational Quality Alliance for Sport is the beginning of a long-term development process lasting several years, which will culminate in a major alliance against sexualised violence in sport.
Participation is open to sports clubs that want to implement a prevention and intervention concept to protect against sexualised violence in sport.
