Project Summary
3 partner institutions for interns (LEAP Massabielle of Vernet la Varenne, LEAP High School 3 valleys of Thonon baths, Colegio San José de Pozoblanco in Spain)
– Established in AURA, in rural tourist area
3 establishments private Catholic institutions that fulfill common missions and values:
– Accompany and educate young people for professional integration in a global development of their person, with a look of trust and kindness.
– Participate in international cooperation actions.
– To welcome young people in all their diversities, differences and difficulties to bring them to a positive evolution of personal and academic success.
Our establishments are therefore brought:
– To welcome young people with difficult routes, not very mobile and having difficulty to access the sports and artistic activities which nevertheless carry values essential to the development of an adult in the making.
– They have little opportunity to travel and therefore to open to different cultures, so they remain frozen in representations too caricatural.
Faced with these peculiarities, we brought to work this theme of the integration of the differences and the handicap and to use the values promulgated by the sport and the art of living.
– This project aims for young people to: improve their cultural representations / learn a foreign language and develop a cultural openness / develop their personality in order to promote a better academic success / ensure their development through the practice of sport and artistic activities / value of school skills to restore confidence in the adult, their ability to succeed / demonstrate cohesion and team spirit, mutual aid / value differences by developing diversity and diversity changing the look on disability / feeling European citizen.
– This project will allow institutions and educational teams to: create links / enrich our pedagogies by leaving the isolation of our institutions / develop international cooperation / increase the attractiveness of our institutions / meet the missions of agricultural education .
The profile of the participants: 4th and 3rd classes of agricultural education + a class resulting from a training of sports animators in the natural environment for the Spanish; between 14 and 19 years old (for Spanish).
They have in common a chaotic school career, difficulties to look at themselves with a positive image, real difficulties to be mobile geographically and to have access to sports and cultural structures.
The project will take place over a period of 2 years.
– 2019/2020 on the theme of sport and disability with mobility in Spain and France: discover and practice sports activities for which they do not necessarily have access, share meeting times with athletes practicing handicaps activities so to change the look on the world of the handicap, to envisage how it is possible to rebound in the face of the difficulties of the life and therefore in the face of the school difficulties: related to the mountain in France to the nature in Spain
– November and January 2019, working time on disability (use of the wheelchair, blind travel, meeting) to become aware of difficulties in everyday life
– November and December 2019 participation in the day of the handicap
– March 2020 discovery of mountain sports activities in France,
– May 2020 discovery of nature sports activities in Spain
– 2020/2021 on the theme of the arts of life (theater and music). A mobility in France with the discovery of theatrical and musical activities then a second in Spain with the setting up of a show associating people with disabilities.
– November 2020 and January 2021 discovery of performing arts and artistic expression techniques
– March 2021 practice of live performance, music in France
– May 2021 realization of a show in Spain
We chose to work on these two themes; sports and artistic activities because they both bear different values of respect, listening, mutual support, acceptance and acceptance of the other in what it can bring positive group to succeed, to surpass oneself to gain self-confidence and to others.
– Young people will be selected on the basis of volunteering initially for mobility but also according to the needs of each and not a reward for “good students”. We will not exclude difficult students on the contrary, we will value a real motivation and involvement in the project by asking them to write a cover letter followed by an interview.
