Project Summary

Five schools across Europe come together for this project, having as the main objective the social inclusion of pupils from different background, using music, drama and movement as a pedagogical tool for innovative teaching methods. Music, drama and movement is proven that have a significant role in pupils’ progress academically and behaviourally. Children who do not have the opportunity to be engaged in activities and with minimal or no opportunities to be socialised, will come together with children from different background in order to create, learn and have fun, celebrating equity in a holistic inclusive environment. There will be activities individually for every area: music, drama, movement, but there will be activities where all areas merge together to teach and explore rhythmic patterns, develop physical coordination and body posture, acting, dancing and singing using devices and ICT skills for filming, recording, composing, performing, and making animation. Pupils from all schools will make choices for the topic of the films as well as the process of the story. They will write lyrics for original songs and will make costumes and masks, exploring the history and the cultural heritage of every country-partner with music, dance, language, drama and stories/legends. All pupils (SEN and mainstream) will have the opportunity to lead at least one activity and will support the rest participants, developing self-esteem and confidence. All pupils will work together communicating on a regular basis with their new friends/partners via eTwinning and videoconferences. The 5 participant teachers and their team from UK, France, Spain, Greece and Sweden have experience with Erasmus+ projects as well as creative projects with a number of theatrical, musical performances and films and all pupils have joined at least once a performance project: https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x5r0w8i, https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x6bxkbu, https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x6os1q3, https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x71evfp, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AWZRTpIJSbc.
Cooperation, team-work, exploration of the cultural heritage and national and international values, hands-on activities, inclusive setting workshops, rhythmic patterns, exploration of music-kinaesthetic method, communication with sign language, body percussion, role play, the power of human’s voice as an instrument will be included in order to complete the project successfully. The cross-curricula activities will support pupils to develop comprehension, communication, literacy and language, empathy, understanding of the world, maths, history, whilst they will be engaged, will have fun and their voice will be heard by making choices and taking decisions.
The expected results will be films, videos of activities with instructions, an original song with video clip raising awareness about environmental pollution, an original song with an animation for animals and sizes (big and little), songs/videos related to letters for teaching phonics, a Christmas movie, videos of Greek mythology, Spanish and French legends with English subtitles teaching language, cultural heritage, history, communication and comprehension through role play.
Our aim is to create innovative and original recourses covering a range of subjects as referred above and to promote them in order other organizations, schools and specialist to be supported by them. They will have access to all recourses with clear instructions for adjustable and creative activities that promote the social inclusion.
