The project brings together two secondary schools offering two similar vocational courses ( in the Caring Professions sector and in the Health and Nature Sciences) .The first school is located in the southwest of France, the other in southern Spain. All the students involved in both institutions are in secondary school and are aged between 16 and 19 .
In a context where community exchanges could become more rigid, it is important to overcome prejudices against any form of physical, cultural or social exclusion.
The main objective of this multidisciplinary project is to share exchange and, if possible, to pool practices and know how in the taking into account of disabilities . In addition, there is a real challenge for our students into learn a foreign language to pass their diplomas (Baccalaureate and Bacchilerato) .
The project will be implemented through rigorous linguistic preparation, participation in cultural activities in the two institutions concerned and with two one-week students’mobility during which participants will lead activities for disabled people .
Its promotion will involve the dissemination of thematic files, a film on the internet, participation in local activities and local or regional events .
Its benefits are manifold : in students, it will develop their spirit of initiative, their interest in school, their linguistic and cultural knowledge, their professional skills and the common values of Europe. For the institutions, the project reinforces their image, promotes the enrichment of practices and contributes to European openness . Finally, it will allow institutions to make contacts for future cooperation (future individual mobility of students during the internships) . This project will also be a first step : it would be essential to extend it to other schools from European countries as the subject is a current universal issue .
