Project Summary
Claudel middle school in Paris belongs to the French educational priority network. In 2016, some of its teachers were able to take part in a mobility program with Madrid and Edinburgh. This experience has been very fruitful on many points and we would like to engage further actions with our partners.
We would like to develop study trips for voluntary teachers and their pupils. This would help the teachers to exchange with their peers on teaching practices. Our pupils would learn more about peer mediation programs in school, and benefit from a rich language and cultural immersion. These trips would also help them to build a strong European identity.
Objectives
– To develop a European policy strategy in educational priority networks in order to reduce the impact of social and economic inequalities on pupils’ performance and attainment.
– To build a teaching network. It could develop a wide range of innovative teaching practices and improve practical teaching. This could result in the design of ‘tailored’ answers for pupils experiencing difficulties and provide help for children by creating synergies.
-To share projects in school. They would develop children’s personal commitments through arts, culture, sports and science.
– To set up actions in order to value and promote the key notion of “how to live together” -which is an important process in children’s personal development and learning achievement –
– To develop a culture of pupils commitment.
-To enable pupils to build a strong European identity through the creation of European bonds.
– To acquire further knowledge about different educational systems in European countries.
Process
-Exchanging of school practices during our mutual visits in order to set up or develop peer mediation (how? necessity of pair training? who should be trained? where and when? Who should be in charge of pair training? How to evaluate the benefits of peer mediation? Etc.)
-The Erasmus pupils ambassadors would prepare their mobility first by observing how peer mediation works in Madrid and Edinburgh schools and then by reporting what they saw in their own schools. They will also be able to continue and share their peer mediation experiences with their Spanish and Scottish partners trough e-twinning .
Expected results
-To get more pupils involved in their learning process, in their ability to live together and to develop their European identity.
-To enrich our European partnership work.
