Project Summary

In times of Brexit, sceptical opinions towards the EU and the increasing of national ideas it is even more important to bring young people together to give them a chance for intercultural cooperation, learning together by imitating best practice skills and improving language and media knowledges.
Nowadays it is important in school not only to teach knowledge but also prepare the students for life, being open minded to diversity, foreigners, cultural differences, inclusion, integration social awareness and social competence. The best way to reach this is the real contact to other students from Europe: to be precise from Finland, Germany, Greece, Iceland, Poland, Spain. Every country will have at least 15 travelling students aged between 12 and 18 among appr. 20 teachers and hundreds more involved. Some of the participants have economic obstacles, educational difficulties, migration background or are refugees.

Getting together through eTwinning or social media platforms and then working in teams in different workshops, travelling to and experiencing a foreign country, talking in the project language English and also produce video tutorials and a common brochure as a guide for life are the outcomes of the project.
The aim of this project is to support the health and well-being of young people with a focus on:
– Promoting mental and sexual health, sports, physical activity and healthy lifestyles.
– Preventing and treating injury, eating disorders, addictions and substance abuse.
– Education on nutrition.
– Culture (e.g. theatre, dancing, music, museums) as a part of work-life-balance and a way to express oneself.
– Achieving responsible cititzenship (e.g. responsible shopping, reading contracts, informing about goods and politics, stating an opinion).
– Reflecting the chances and risks of modern media.
– Promoting cooperation between schools, youth workers, health professionals sport organisations, bankers, theatres, IT-specialists and consumer advice centres.
– Raising awareness of how e.g. sports, media or culture can promote teamwork, intercultural learning and responsibility leading to social competence and therefore being fit for life: students and teachers.
