Project Summary
Nowadays life around us changes so fast, that we need to have competences and skills which can be used on various fields of life. The IFTF states that the majority of the professions in 2030 do not exist today. So the big question is that how can we in the schools prepare our students for their future life.
In this present project there are 5 European schools from 5 different countries: Croatia, Hungary, Italy, Spain and Turkey. Their students are from 3 to 15. The applying project partners created the aims of the project; they made up the used activities and their best methods. The main coordinators worked together on whatsapp for 8 months previously they handed in the final version of this project.
We introduced the schools, presented their development plans and saw that the main problem in the schools the declining learning motivation of the students that is why the pedagogical plan has to be renewed. Focus groups were created, participating the students in order to understand their problems and needs better, and finally the groups came up to the conclusion that their basic skills have to be developed.
This project could be good to present a way how to work with our students by using their commitment for self-learning and their inner need for developing their basic learning skills, their imagination, problem-solving skills, moreover their emotional intelligence – this last one is so important as we can see that nowadays this kind of skill is extremely important in our modernized world.
The developing of basic skills is the main point of this project – of 600 students from the 5 countries of the project, and their key competences as well. All this is planned within 24 months.
Objectives:
– increasing the social openness, the cultural knowledge, the entrepreneurship with students from 5 European countries by the end of 2021.08.
– increasing the students’ emotional intelligence and their social skills
– encouraging the communication and the peer learning
– expanding the international competencies and the students’ self-expression
The meetings: 1 short-term joint staff training in Hungary and 4 short-term exchanges of groups for students. These meetings are planned on different topics: Croatia: sports: outdoor and indoor activities, Italy: music: talent show, Spain: photos and Turkey: theatre. All of these projects are going to try to reach their goals by using diverse aspects. Within the project almost 600 students will be involved; within it there will be almost 110 active members. The parents, the school staff, the representatives of the educational institutions, the school staff and the inspectors, the stakeholders, the NGOs, the mayor, the city hall are the indirect participants.
There will be numerous real goals of this project, like the logo and the webpage of the project, a lot of audio-visual materials: “How fun is your school?” or “My school and my city”, exhibitions about “Student life”, fun puzzles, scrapbook project-diaries, e-school magazines, photo-stories, comics, theatre plays, sporting activities, bookmarks, photo-travel guides, toolkit.
With the help of the common activities the participating students are going to do sports (indoor and outdoor), they will sing and play theatre together, explore the nature by taking photos or create project-related products. These activities are going to strengthen their social awareness, cohesion and open-mindedness and their communication skills are going to develop at the same time.
The mixed approaches are going to help our students in their success, and they will be able to see the world from a different point of view – thank to the numerous various students work together for one goal.
As teachers we learnt that the PASL method help students to develop their motivation. When they use this method within an international environment, they could feel that they belong to the same European community, they will understand the other’s culture, and meet with new international dimensions of their world. When we use the PASL method in our school, we can raise our students’ self-confidence to dare to communicate with their peers form other European schools. This way they will be able to experience the desire of broadening their own mind and motivation to develop their skills and personality. We believe that the motivation in case of teachers and students as well is the key to the development of our schools, and this will bring the quality work in our teaching process.
The educational program of the school could be improved by the results of this project, the participating schools mutually will be able to gain a multinational dimension into the teaching process of other European educational schemes.
