Project Summary
Culture is an integrative concept that encompasses all the values put forward throughout human history. When the studies on the concept of culture are examined, different perspectives are encountered. Some of these perspectives are; culture; social heritage and traditions, lifestyle, ideals, values and behaviors, adaptation to the environment, education in a broad sense, product of social interaction, reflection of thought, symbol system and individual psychology. The goals we want to achieve with our project are that schools are aware of their responsibility for providing educational wealth and diversity to all students, understand how students structure information and support learners to structure information. We believe that it is appropriate for teachers to take part in educational activities that introduce different cultural structures in the society in order to develop their awareness of different cultures within the activities planned. This will teach the trainees how to handle educational activities in multicultural settings and have a positive impact on the acquisition of knowledge and skills in this field.
With our project, our partners;will enable participants to understand themselves, develop a positive self and be at peace with their identity. It will explain the values and attitudes of individuals who belong to different cultures and enable others to recognize and respect these cultures. It will support the participants to see intercultural communication, structures of different cultures and alternative perspectives. It will help individuals of different ethnic backgrounds to acquire basic skills (literacy, mathematics, problem solving, critical thinking, etc.). It will enable participants to recognize and respect cultural and ethnic differences in society as well as their own culture. The participants will realize that multicultural education will be possible by guiding the regulation of learning environments by accurately reflecting the principles on learning environments. They will learn that education programs should focus multiculturally on existing differences, experiences and cultures. They will know that activities such as role playing, simulation, educational materials and experiences through empathy help students develop positive attitudes and perceptions of ethnic structures.
The project has positive planned and targeted impacts on participants, institutions and students studying in institutions. It will contribute to our partners gaining the vision of EU 2020 and integrating multiculturalism into education as part of education. It will enable participants to increase their creativity and contribute to the production of many projects, expanding their imagination and going beyond their limited ideas. It will enable teachers to recognize different cultures in students and support the change of their attitudes in the positive direction.Teachers will carry out many project activities with the students thanks to their experiences. In this way, students will have the opportunity to participate in both national and international projects.
