Project Summary
Our European Concert project: music as a means to unite different cultures and communicate in a single language is framed within the EU Erasmus + program, within the key action 2 on school education (KA229).
The strategic association is formed by two educational centers:
– Comprehensive Istituto “Diego Valeri” from Campolongo Maggiore (Italy).
– Conservatory of music “Reina Sofía” of Bailén (Spain).
The priorities of the project are:
– HORIZONTAL:
Support individuals in the acquisition and development of basic skills and key competences.
The social and educational value of European cultural heritage, its contribution to job creation, economic growth and social cohesion.
– SCHOOL EDUCATION:
Strengthening organizational capacity and recognition of learning periods abroad.
General objectives:
a) Appreciate European cultural diversity and reinforce the feeling of belonging to a common project.
b) Promote the interpretation and enjoyment of music as a universal cultural language.
c) Value music as cultural heritage and use it as a language of exchange in the project.
d) Enhance the social values in the students that will help a common learning.
Specific objectives:
1. Appreciate the multiculturalism and inclusiveness of music and participate in a joint concert.
2. Disseminate our Andalusian cultural heritage by preparing a body percussion session and get to know the main flamenco styles.
3. Feel and transmit music as a universal language.
4. Work a joint repertoire that includes a folklore work from each country.
5. Use the emblematic monuments of our environment as a stage for concerts.
6. Theater popular stories through music.
7. Identify the main features of Spanish zarzuela and Italian opera.
The direct participants will be the students (of ages between 10 and 16 years), the teaching staff and the families of the participating centers. Indirectly it will impact the collaborating entities, town halls, bordering localities, companies and associations of our environment.
The projected activities are included in the calendar and are integrated into the daily planning of the centers. We can stand out:
– Local preparatory and dissemination activities in each of the centers.
– Short-term exchange of groups of students accompanied by teachers (28 students and 4 teachers).
– Musicalization of stories.
– Diffusion of flamenco.
– Research on the musical cultural heritage of Italy and Spain.
– Didactic concerts on zarzuela and opera.
– European Concert: concert of integration of both cultures.
– Visits to know the cultural heritage of each city.
Methodology:
The peer learning methodology is one of the pillars of our project. In the case of activities such as music, dance and theater; the interaction between the students will be eminently active and practical. This will make it possible for motivation to be the main tool of their learning. We will be based on teamwork, cooperative with group dynamics and the exchange of good practices that help us to develop a more effective learning.
The results and impact are diverse and affect the entire community:
– Exchange of good teaching practices.
– Development of critical sense, creativity and the ability to express oneself through music.
– Appreciation of the different European cultures and respect for them.
– Promote peer learning and active methodologies.
– Improvement of the departments involved.
– Development of a new professional perspective, towards innovation and inclusion in Europe.
Dissemination of results:
To make the results arrive nationally and Europeanly, we will use the websites of the partners, YouTube channel, social networks, eTwinning. The results will be available in the Erasmus + project results platform.
We will use the magazine of the “Baécula Musical” center to disseminate our results among the conservatories of the Andalusian community to share our experiences and serve as inspiration for future projects.
