Project Summary

The aim of our project ”Tolerance and Equality promote Kindness” is to have students share universal values of respect, tolerance and empathy towards people who are different and to realize that violence and harassment are never the answer as people are meant to live together in harmony even though fate has not been kind to all of us regarding health, family and social status. Our project unites 5 schools from Romania, Bulgaria, Lithuania, Italy and Turkey where it learn disabled students(RO,LT, IT) roma students(RO, BG) and immigrants(TR, IT) who often find themselves victims of discrimination from class and school mates. These schools have lately been facing an increase in school violence, of bullying and cyberbullying, phenomena which determine among others school abandon and also make life more unpleasant for the students who are directly implicated.
Project objectives:
O1.To reduce the cases of violence by 8% by teaching 200 students from participating schools mutual respect, tolerance and care for peers in the first 2 years of the project, by developing a common strategy against violence
O2.To improve the current methods used to combat bullying, violence and discrimination in partner schools by the 52 participating teachers within the 24 months by developing a good practice guide and sharing these methods with teachers, parents and other interested parties
O3.To develop the communication and intercultural skills as well as digital and English language skills at 100 students during the project
O4.To increase the teamwork and social integration skills for 100 students skills which can be transmitted to the rest of the students back home by workshops and common projects during the project
The project aims to unite students under the idea of diversity and the acceptance of diversity by looking for ways to transmit such values. First of all, we intend to promote equality on all levels.
The target groups: On the one hand, the violent students who manifest aggressive behaviour towards their colleagues and teachers, on the other hand the students who are targets of such behaviour.
-teachers who are confronted with cases of violence, harassment and discrimination
-class and school mates, parents and teachers from other schools even the local community are indirect target groups which will benefit from the project.
6 LTTAs will be deployed to meet the project objectives: C1-teachers learning activities, C2-6 students learning activities
The LTTAs aim for students and teachers to work together on issues related to the purpose of the project, so as to raise awareness of issues related to violent behavior and its consequences. During each LTTA the students will work together in international teams.
The names of the 6 LTTAs:
C1-Violence and discrimination in schools-General aspects
C2-Aggression. Types of aggression. Digital apps for a friendly school
C3-Say NO to stereotypical thinking
C4-Say NO to violence
C5-Say NO to bullying
C6-Say YES to equality
These exchanges will allow both participating students and teachers and their institutions to develop and improve their international cooperation skills. Therefore, the purpose of the project is to make students share the universal values of respect, tolerance and empathy
We will achieve the outcomes:
-a comparative analysis on school violence and discrimination from our countries and schools
-a guide regarding the common strategy to combat violence and discrimination in our schools
-an online magazine written and published by students(studies, observations, analyses) of LTTA 1-5
-a calendar with the most important moments of LTTAs done with QRGenerator app
-project’s website
-etwinning, FB pages
-exhibitions: photo, posters
-anti violence short film
We will raise awareness about the concept of equality and its importance, thus determining our students to become more flexible and open to differences. They will also develop their communication skills in English, digital skills, increase their tolerance and respect for others, their interpersonal and social skills as a result of working together in multinational teams.
The project will lead to a decrease of harassment and violence cases, better intercultural awareness and improved working environment. The impact on our schools will be great. First of all, we believe that the number of incidents of violence amongst students will decrease as a result of the project activities related to this topic. These activities aim to raise awareness, but also to positively influence the emotions of our students. We will continue to disseminate the results after each exchange so that they could reach as many students as possible, and so the impact of the project on their attitudes and behaviors will multiply and shift from participants to other students. Teachers will be able to identify, adapt and implement good practices in their own schools.
