Our students live in disadvantages, economic and social depressed rural areas which do not give them the opportunity to widen their cultural horizons as well as to improve their skills and competences. As a consequence, the project intends to promote active citizenship and intercultural dialogue among our pupils in their lifelong learning, therefore the acquisition of key competences such as the linguistic and the ICT ones are essential to make learners’ mobility a reality. We expect students will:
– Improve their mother tongue competences;
– enhance their foreign language competences;
– develop their knowledge about partners countries;
– become more entrepreneurial and competitive in finding employment;
– Improve their digital skills;
– gain confidence in international contacts;
– evaluate their skills and knowledge on the basis of the skills and knowledge of their foreign peers;
– learn how to process and use information;
– practice the use of IT tools in their learning;
– learn how to make a presentation in English and mother tongue;
– know about traditional and organic food, healthy lifestyle;
– develop entrepreneural skills;
– learn how to be an independent learner – take responsibility for their own learning and the techniques they use to learn;
– increase their motivation and interest in school activities;
– improve their communicative skills;
– enhance their competences in group work;
– become more tolerant and free of prejudice.
All schools will take part in the project, but students living in economic, social and disadvantages conditions will be primarily involved.This means that eighty students will participate in the mobilities.
Our institutions’ aim at reinforcing the European dimensions throughout learning and practicing languages not only at school, but also in the different countries that they will visit.
Regarding the methodology of the project, we will use a project-based learning method for the development of students’ competences. This method known as “student-centered approach” allows students to play an active role in the learning process.
Throughout this partnership, everyone will improve his competences and will learn new ways related to social relationships, team work, organization and information systems. We stress the fact that direct connections between people are the best way to practise languages and to be eager to learn them.
The field of this partnership will span from discovering cultures to popular genuine traditions throughout geography, history in order to enrich each partner’s knowledge over other countries. Traditions and customs are linked to authentic and organic products. Moreover, this partnership offers students and teachers the opportunity of discovering the traditional food as belonging to the peculiarity of an area, comparing healthy lifestyle of different cultures. The partners will be aware of environmental aspects of food.
The ultimate aim of the project is to create more open-minded, creative, self-confident, friendly European citizens who are tolerant for cultural differences and have a sense of responsibility.
As for the potential long term benefits, all activities in this project intends to enable pupils with the sense of initiative and entrepreneurship and equip them with the knowledge and skills they might need for participating actively in the field of employment in European youth work.
So students will know and analyze local markets and businesses, local entrepreneurs, local business institutions, local organic food in order to develop entrepreneurial skills for starting up a business for International trade. Furthermore, that increases pupils motivation in acquiring key competences starting from a real problem linked to the local community and area, projecting onto a European dimension, so adding an European value.
