Project Summary

The world has reached a level of inexhaustible and frenetic innovation that exerts a strong influence on the way we live and think… Students at schools are certainly not immune to this influence, in fact on many occasions, pupils are ahead of teachers in terms of their adaptation and understanding of the complex digital world we live in and they tend to feel more comfortable when working in virtual environments where audiovisual arts and ICT are completely fused. If education professionals do not adapt to the audiovisual and multimedia world of children, our students will be increasingly unmotivated.

In each of our partner centres, our project intends to set in motion a rich and abundant exchange of educational and learning experiences based on the arts, incorporating plastic, audiovisual and ICT, as all the educational materials aimed at children today must contain animated images, attractive videos and enveloping sounds that motivate learning (educational video games, audio and television messages addressed to children, robotics, etc.

Although this idea we want to affect all the students and teachers in our schools, it is especially aimed at the most unmotivated students in our educational centers, because they are the ones who need more encouragement to be interested in learning content and improve their school performance.

Our main objectives are:
1) Promote in our schools the use of ICTs in combination with art (plastic and audiovisual) throughout the teaching-learning process.
2) Promote innovative good practices among our teachers, approaching and adapting to the audio-visual reality of the world that surrounds our students.
3) Motivate our students through proposals of creative multimedia work closer to their interests and their reality.
4) Promote social and civic competences and European values in the theme and development of multimedia materials.
5) Improve the use of foreign languages among our students and teachers.
6) Open and promote our educational centres abroad.-
7) Learn to work cooperatively and collaboratively within our classrooms and in general within our Project partner centres.

The project is expected to promote a wide participation of a large number of members of the educational community, mainly pupils and teachers, and parents too.

Our main participants will be the pupils, mainly between 6 and 14 years old. At least 200 students per school are expected to participate (in total more than 1000 students); about 15 teachers per school (in total about 90 teachers); and about 50 families per school (about 300 parents in total). A special effort will be made to involve students with educational difficulties, as well as students with economic and social difficulties.

The Project activities will be marked by that artistic character together with the ICTs, in order to create and develop applications and materials that improve our teaching processes to learn and that help us to present with our students communication, information, multimedia presentations of lessons, school radio and television programs, etc. The activities will be varied: Workshops for learning applications for digital audio and video recording and editing; Programming and gamification workshops, digital animation and robotics start; recordings of radio-TV programs and a Project anthem; multimedia concerts; websites, blogs and in social networks, etc. For teachers, there will be activities aimed at improving teaching practice, such as: Round tables, seminars, discussion, workshops to improve our teaching in ICTs.
We will use four basic methodologies that are used in our schools in the teaching-learning process:
1) Learning based in Projects (ABP). Students must prepare their own work projects, using creativity, problem solving.
2) Cooperative Learning: Students must work in cooperative groups to favor peer learning and collaborative work.
3) Gamification. Students will use the dynamics of the game and videogames to boost motivation, concentration, effort,…
4) Design Thinking – This method will allow each student to generate their own ideas and solve problems creatively.

We hope that the development of this Project will have a great impact on our partner schools, allowing:
a) Greater motivation of our students to learnings and consequently an improvement in the results of our school development.
b) Improvement in the professional interest of our teachers for a methodological change, betting on ICTs as fundamental tools for the competence development of our students.
c) A higher level of involvement of families and other members of our schools in the teaching-learning processes and the real needs of their children, understanding and valuing more the work done by teachers in schools.
d) All this will allow for an improved Coexistence among all the agents involved in education.
