Project Summary

At a time when Europe’s foundational values are being challenged, and because we firmly believe in these values and the power of education, we are three European educational centers that have decided to collaborate for a better future. By combining good practices and pedagogical innovations, we want to allow all our students, taking into account their diversity, to improve their journey through school to facilitate access to the professional world. Our “Proud of Me!” project brings students and teachers together from France, Finland and Spain with the desire to affiliate educational communities around common ideas and values of respect and tolerance.

At present, the consequences of increasingly closed minds are serious. Nations seem to want to counteract them and today’s society is changing: we are in a moment of awareness and the time has come to change. We are proposing a project based on education of openness to one another, the other student, the other person, someone who lives differently but turns out to be a human being like us, different but also so similar. A Flash-mob and a color run will help to comunicate about our project.

We intend to arrive at the creation of a nomadic and multilingual exhibition, made by students over two years of collaboration, to raise awareness about notions of respect and tolerance. We want our students to become aware of the importance of each other.

This transnational collaboration will allow, through the use of the European Etwinning platform, to enhance the European dimension of our work and facilitate communication between all the actors to allow them to enrich themselves with the differences of the other, reinforcing their curiosity for discovery and the practice of new languages as a means of personal enrichment. Through this collaboration we will also try to show the importance of knowing how to communicate in foreign languages. To highlight the bond that unites all participants, a collaboration plan with Europe as an engine has been developed.

The creation and analysis of these activities will lead us to the writing of an educational guide called “how to create a multilingual exhibition in a school environment?”. In the midst of carrying out these activities we will have mobilities that allow students to immerse themselves in this work and then inform their own school of the progress of the project and what they have learned. During the mobilities, class observations will be planned, as well as a discovery of the emblematic natural parks near each establishment.

Family accommodation and participation in language classes of the host country will allow the acquisition of new language skills essential for the proper functioning of the stay. One of the main objectives of the project is to fight against school failures and to allow differences and difficulties collaborating in our association. We will disseminate through the school newspaper, as well as through the project website and the European Etwinning platform.

When possible, we want to go beyond the traditional classroom to learn better and in other ways, particularly through the use of new technologies such as videoconferencing. The parallelism of the activities in the classrooms of the other European classes will increase the enthusiasm and interest of the students and teachers. We hope that the concept of Europe, something that often can be hard to comprehend, in the end, will turn out to be a symbol of strong and lasting friendships for all participants. Finally, we essentially have the dissemination of our pedagogical guide to continue what was undertaken during this project and see the colors of our project become the colors of the world.
