Project Summary

This strategic partnership is based on the fact that less and less pupils are able to achieve at least A1 level of English at the end of the 8th grade. The causes of this problem are that the curriculum is not regularly updated and the educational system is focusing more on large volumes of information, but not on interactive teaching methods that could attract more interest. Because the Curriculum is based in a huge proportion on formal teaching methods, the majority of the pupils consider unattractive learning a foreign language which represents a huge disadvantage for their personal and professional development.
The general objective of this project is to develop English communication competences through non-formal and interactive methods. The specific objectives of the project are the following ones:
– to implement quality Teaching and Learning methods in order to maximize learning opportunities for all.
– to develop a connection between students with different backgrounds, using English as a „lingua franca”.
– the participation of a total number of 42 students from the partner countries to this school exchange that will lead to the improvement of their civic, social and cultural skills.
– to raise students’ awareness regarding the importance of English at the European level.
– Exchange of good practices at European level regarding the organization in order to identify which non-formal methods of teaching and learning English have the best impact on students.
– selecting 3 interactive methods that will be frequently used by the English teachers

Within the project, there will be carried out 3 transnational learning and teaching activities: one in Romania, one in Lithuania and one in Bulgaria. Each partner school will organize 5 days activities. 7 students and 3 accompanying teachers from the other 2 partner schools will attend. Beside those 42 direct participants, at each activity there will participate other students of the venue school. This way, more students will benefit from the activities connected to the project. The project will be also beneficial for the involved teachers because they will have the opportunity to make an exchange of good practices. Together, the teachers will implement interactive and modern teaching methods that will make the learning process more attractive for the pupils. Students with fewer opportunities (economic obstacles) will participate in this project. This will be a huge opporunity for them to develop key competences that will ease their social and professional integration. The methodology that will be used during the activities will be connected to the Curriculum. The main difference is there will be used modern and interactive methods and the purpose of using these methods is to provide high quality teaching and to transform the educational process from a rigid one to a ludic one. One of the most important expected results of the project is that the students will be able to have at least A1 level at Eglish language at the end of the 8th grade. Another expected result is that the teachers will use more interactive and modern methods during the classes, a fact that will contribute to a high quality teaching process. This strategic partnership will be also used as a modality to exchange good practices between the schools. In long term, the project will make the educational process more attractive for the students, will help the students to be more integrated when they will go to high school, the teachers will adapt the interactive and modern methods to the Curriculum. The most important impact of the project is that the students will acquire competences that will provide them more opportunities in the future, will ease their transition to the labor market and it will facilitate their social inclusion.
