Project Summary
The understanding of 21st century educational practice has changed in developed countries to a great extent and the validity of classical teaching methods and techniques has decreased with developing technology. The new generation of teaching methods and techniques has to meet the needs and expectations of our children who are beginning to use technology effectively at an early age. At the point we arrived; the importance of education integration of innovative technologies to reach the EU standards of our educational qualifications is increasing day by day and we are witnessing that new technologies have entered into the education and training environments.
Digitizing education and training environments, adapting to the internet of things ecosystem, adapting to new and innovative technologies, increasing the vocational qualifications of educators and raising qualified personnel in the competitive labor market, which are the main objectives of our project have been achieved thanks to our project activities. 2 Transnational Meeting and 5 Learning Training and Teaching Activities were carried out within the project activities. In addition, 1 Multiplier Event Activity was organized.
A total of 10 people, 2 of which were project contact person and project technical person from partner institutions, participated in the TM activities.
Transnational Meetings:
* On 7-8 January 2016, a planning and opening meeting was held in Mersin.
* On July 28-29, 2017, negotiations were held in Huelva on the subject of the drafting and reporting.
The partners joined with a group of 5 people in each LTT activity. A training activity for a total of 25 people was organized.
C1:The First activity of the project was held in Huelva, Spain on May 16-22, 2016, and activities for electronic and mechatronic system design of the project were carried out. Arduino and Raspberry Pi circuit development cards and sensors and applications have been developed in this frame.
C3:The second activity of the project was held in Baiao, Portugal on 16-22 May 2016, and the activities related to the communication process of the devices in the IOT infrastructure were carried out. In this framework applications were developed with Arduino and Raspberry Pi circuit development cards and wireless communication modules.
C5:The third activity of the project was held in Lugoj, Romania, on October 10-16, 2016, in which activities were carried out for database operations to store data read from the devices in the IOT infrastructure. In this framework, SQL database creation, database access and C # and Entity Framework applications have been developed.
C7:The 4th activity of the project was held in Milano, Italy on February 12-19, 2017, and the activities for the web API development for communicating with the databases where the data read out from the devices are kept in the IOT infrastructure were carried out. In this concept web api and json applications were developed with C#.
C9:The 5th activity of the project was carried out in Mersin, Turkey between April 26th, and May 2nd, 2017 and activities were carried out on the in-situ application of the class entry / exit module, the school entrance module, the cafeteria module and the library modules in the IOT DigiClass substructure. Arduino and Raspberry Pi circuit development boards and related modules and applications have been developed in this context.
IOT DIGI CLASS APPLICATIONS MEETING (E-1) It was held in Mersin Navona Hotel on 24 October 2017 with 150 local participants.
Within the scope of our project, two intellectual outputs (O1-O2) were created named IOT DIGI-CLASS and IOT DIGI-CLASS MODULE.
IOT DIGI-CLASS: An intelligent education and training environment has emerged with the integration of fields such as electronics, mechatronics, communication, data management and software.
IOT DIGI-CLASS performs many functions.
– Central Management System
– Classroom entrance main control module
– Classroom entrance control module
– Classroom inside control module
– Cafeteria Module
– Canteen Module
IOT DIGI CLASS MODULE: Within the scope of project activities; a book has been written in which the applications of electronic, mechatronics, software, remote control and database operations are explained in a practical way. The book was translated into Turkish, English, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese and Romanian languages and presented to the project stakeholders.
In order to increase the quality of vocational and technical education, the workshop activity within the scope of Multiplier Event contributed to the training of qualified personnel throughout the country. The training program and module have been delivered to all over the country via cargo, social media and website www.iotdigiclass.com.
Activities carried out during the Activities carried out during the project were shared on the project website, social media groups, partners’ websites and other related web sites, and they were updated to ensure sustainability.
