Project Summary

Gulbene 3rd Pre-school education institution “Auseklītis” (Latvia) as leading partner of the “Erasmus+” programme KA2 strategical partnership project “The Essence of Sense” (“Maņu esence”) has invited 3 international partners – Kindergarten No.7 in Bucharest (Romania), Kindergarten “Rainbow” in Rapina (Estonia) and non-governmental Youth organization “Mar Antiguo” from Spain, to participate in the 12 month project to gain intercultural learning experience and exchange good practice about the pedagogical work with pre-school age children.

Main AIM of the project is to increase skills of the pre-school education pedagogues by acquiring international and innovative pedagogical practices in the field of senses end environmental education and by gaining intercultural experience. Project realized in the international field will improve the quality of institutions’ work, will provide possibilities to share and to compare methods among the institutions working with similar topics, will provide opportunities for pedagogues of kindergarten to get the intercultural experience and to strengthen their language skills.

Priorities of the project are to strengthen the profile of the pedagogue profession, to widen and to develop competencies of the educators. Topics describing our project are pedagogy and education, environment, climate change, intercultural/intergenerational learning and lifelong learning.

Mission of the project is to implement the defined aim according to the priorities and topics in meaningful learning process during the project activities and in long-term work of organizations. In contrast to modern alienation and the digital age project will offer to pre-school age children contact with the surrounding environment and cognition of the World through all human senses.

Overall number of the training mobilities participants is 36, from them 24 are pedagogues practitioners, who will transfer the gained knowledge to their everyday work in organization; 12 participants will represent administrative or methodical work and will transfer the gained knowledge to the strategical planning of educational work. 4 videos will be created within the project what will serve as simple and exciting material for pedagogues, parents and other involved with the aim to transform the surrounding World to never ending resource for children’s values orientation development.
