Project Summary
The project was developed in the context of Central European formal education systems, which would benefit from innovative practices. The project partnership consists of debate organizations from Slovakia, Romania, Estonia and Lithuania. The project responds to several needs: to increase the relevance of formal education approaches to young people’s lives and its appeal to them. In addition, the project develops concrete methods that the teachers can use in instruction, which they say they are lacking now. The project helps each partner organization systematize the efforts it has had with teachers so far. The teachers involved in the project will be able to participate in international mobilities and contribute to a multi-lingual manual for using debate methodology in various subject classes. The partners organizations will promote this manual among teachers. Overall we expect the project to reach at least 200 high school teachers from the 4 countries. The long-term ambition of the project is to contribute to the transformation of formal education.
