Project Summary
Into the PROtect(Promote traditions through handmade crafts)project were involved 6 organizations from 4 different countries:Romania, Belgium, Poland and Bulgaria. It occured as a necesity to continue the existent partnership beween Romania-Belgium, Belgium-Poland through the model of mutual activities. It included also Bulgaria, as an important pole for preserving the cultural traditions and handmade crafts and also as a possibility to extent the mutual model in another country . The objectives, activities, instruments and results provided a common way of work for all the involved partners in accordance with their mission and vision . The objectives consisted in establishing an European transnational dialog between women organizations through monthly practical workshops, 4 transnational meetings and 2 transnational learning activities in the first 20 months of the project, practicing handmade crafts into organized workshops in each partener’s organization from the second till the 23th month of the project, enabling the 6 organizations to develop activities of social inclusion and growing self-esteem for minimum 90 women during the 24 months of the project.The project adressed to 90 women from rural areas or small communities. Each organization managed a target group that consist in minimum 15 people for which they organized activities to protect and promote local traditions and handmade crafts, protect the environment by using recycled materials or natural materials and promoting outside activities. Another goal was to protect the self-esteem of women and were organized social inclusion activities , and entrepreneurial activities. For the management were organized 3 transnational meetings in order to establish the prochedures, methologies and assure a good management for the activities. For disemination , each organization organized several events. Some materials were done during the project: a guide with exemples of good practices, tutorials regarding handmade crafts, brochure regarding similarities and differences in the 4 cultures involved into the project, a logo.
The methods used into the project promoted interactive involvement and creativity.
Participants were stimulated to communicate and to be actively engaged into activities. They also had the chanses to practice communication in English through the online networks and direct meetings. The project offered the space to practicehandmade crafts and give the opportunty for each involved women to share the experience, to develop new skills to enlarge the creativity. Also it offered technical suport for developing entrepreneurial abilities and turn the learned crafts into a source of living. This can be the benefit of the project on long term.
