Project Summary
Building on our experience in the project, together with our partners we have created a Health Education Model Program that is professionally grounded, disseminable, and well-suited for use in all days of preschool life. It is suitable to replace the mandatory health preservation program of institutions. The program is a response to the challenges of the present, as nowadays it is no longer natural for children to have good air, enough exercise, and adequate food intake. Our habits have changed, we sit a lot looking at the digital world, so conscious health education on the part of adults (both teachers and parents) is important.
We have developed and positively strengthened this value system through children in families as well. We mostly achieved our goals, such as loving sports, educating to work, increasing the consumption of drinking water, sensitizing parents, and taking advantage of environmental conditions. Each institution has done a successful job in its own fields: the number of participants in family days has increased and we are usually better able to organize institutional campaigns and events year after year. Our results: the institutions created a Health Promotion Model program, which can be disseminated as a good practice, 1 printed recipe collection with descriptions of jointly prepared fruit and vegetable salads, 1 electronic sensitive toy collection. The impact of the project, that the attitudes of educators and parents have changed, has become more conscious. Through the program, young children have received development appropriate to their age, and we hope, they become more aware in the areas of preserving the natural environment as well as a healthy lifestyle. It is natural for them to consume vegetables and fruits, but the most striking is the popularity of drinking water. We have sown the germs, which will allow them to make good decisions for their health.
The environment and image of the institutions have changed positively. The worldviews of the teachers expanded and their competencies (including language) developed. We worked closely with families throughout the program. Teachers have mastered new methods that they incorporate into their work. New, fruitful partnerships are formed, educational institutions are happy to participate in international projects.
