Project Summary

The project “Responsibly and with respect for folk traditions” reflects the cultural heritage and mutual history of European nations. It was related to the great treasure and diversity of our cultural traditions, with emphasis on the traditional folk crafts.
The main goals of the project were:

– promotion of traditional folk crafts directed to general public

– motivation to master the folk crafts

– maintenance and revival of folk crafts

The project partnership was established between the associations and organizations long-term working with these issues and they had cooperated for several years before.

The projects activities were focused on:

– organization of festivals and international meetings of folk craftsmen

– organization of workshops and special seminars for prospects about folk crafts

– searching for bearers of folk traditions

– creating national and international networks of associated organizations

– informing on and improving the quality of cooperation with local, regional and national institutions in organizing events and festivals.

Very important was the impact on the participants:

– improvement of competences of key staff of partner organizations in organizing festivals

– increase of creativity and expertise of craftsmen-volunteers in the organized workshops

– mutual inspiration and improvement of cooperation with employees of associated organizations and institutions.
