Moreover during specific events like the project Final Conference, Workshops, Info days and other project dissemination events the senior citizens were also participated, as the end-users and the population groups who were empowered though the ICT and on ICT for their own life and their active ageing. Special emphasis we gave on the gender equality and women were the majority of the project participants as an equality project policy. The number of the participants were much more than 4,000 according to the number of the participants that we put as a goal on the project application at first
The activities conducted were in the context of the following methodology:
• Preliminary Research during the IO1, IO2, IO3, IO6 we conducted research in order to fulfilled the needs of the project outputs
• We included scientific production, third age approaches and pedagogical practices, that are used in all the participant countries and all over Europe
• IO4, IO5 were mostly based on Digital tools and innovative products that were arosed from the project previous outputs
• Evaluation and incorporation . During those two years of the Project we made on going evaluation of the ProADAS project. Evaluation on the progress of the project outputs and results as well as evaluation during the imlementation of the project activities.
• We made dissemination activities through social media( project facebook, partners facebook) through magazines, newsletters, conferences, workshops etc. Furthermore taking into consideration the sustainability of the project we builted a strong relationship and continuation of the project through keeping the webpage alive, after the end of the project.
The project results had been developed in three main categories and with subsequent categories as follows:
a) We succeded the preparatory/Foundation category, with the imlementation of the preliminary review & research on the existing situation and the variables concerning a methodological approach on elderly training. Specifically we used a validated questionaire in order to evaluated the existing situation in each participant country on digital knowledge,on the project participant needs, both for elderly and their caregivers.
b) We succeded development, incorporation & sustainability category, through building the proADAS curriculum, Handbook, e-learning courses, mobile application
c) Dissemination activities entailing a book, web-based actions, info days, workshops, conference, social media, publication of the project results in a scientific and public magazines.
Concerning the overall impact, proADAS changed the philosophy of ageing: ageing had to be a still DYNAMIC procedure, with constant social inclusion & civic participation. It needs to be active ageing with digital character, thus, ACTIVE DIGITAL AGEING. In this framework, the institutions on the one, and the individuals (professionals, adult training providers, community centers staff, etc)- on the other- are reinforced for dealing with training, support and care of the elderly, while the ultimate beneficiaries-the seniors- experience the transition from seniors to e-seniors with subsequent improvement in quality of life.
As another perspective, proADAS has an impact on the society, culture, and the economy as a whole, contributing at the same time in the alliance of societal challenges, cultural capital, technological developments and economical growth: elderly are also considered to be leading also the socio-financial growth in the local and national context, as culture givers, potential tourists, consumers, entrepreneurs- social & individual-volunteers, etc.
Last, the project enhanced the international and European dimension of active digital ageing accompanied with an impact on relevant decision makers, since the high ageing population proportion in Europe along with the high age division and the low digital literacy asks for steady encouraging policies.
