Project Summary
The project “This Is Me” is a collaboration between eight young and ambitious minds, that will together execute the creation and production of the short film “This Is Me”, based on a true story of a young trans person from Iceland. The film will be created and produced by an all-female crew from Iceland and Lithuania. The young trans person is part of the team. The film industry is fighting sexism and lack of women in every role, behind and in front of the camera. At the same time, trans people are fighting for equal rights and understanding. This project is a step forward in raising awareness about women in films and trans people in Europe. We plan to make an impact on people that see the film on film festivals, on TV or online, and those who attend special events about trans people in Europe, which will be held by the group in Iceland and Lithuania. The young people behind “This Is Me” have experience of filmmaking, project management, theatre, education, fighting for human rights and art creation, and will combine and develop those skills in this project, that fights for equal rights in the society.
