Project Summary
Goats, agrotourism and a great desire to work together, there was plenty here for giving life to a strategic partnership at the core of the European rural world. In order to achieve that, two schools of agriculture, Balote high school in Istria (Croatia) and François Marty high school Midi-Pyrenees (France) set common goals to create a model approach for local development. That became part of their training and hopefully improved it, while helping professionals of the sector. Associated partners were also part of the adventure : goat breeders, professionals of agriculture and tourism (AZZRI, the National Union of goat breeders, FNEC, the Chamber of Agriculture). For that, a model of quality approach applicable to both territories was required. The students and their teachers, helped by the professionals listed, each in his environment, the different activities related to goat breeding, processing and marketing of food products and agrotourism. From this list they identified the most typical guidelines during mobility. They finalized their work by producing a workbook of local development technician in the different sectors they studied.
This workbook was validated by the professionals, then they used it and put it online on the web platform created for the project. This platform had the purpose to continue after, to allow the improvement of this method developed by partners and other participants (the international cooperation network of agricultural schools in Midi-Pyrenees for example). Its name was “Europe we can”. English was the common working language. During the partnership, the students assessed themselves in a Europass and an assessment grid, for the progress and the results of the project. Thus young Europeans learnt working together on precise sectors while innovating, using the computer tool, in a language that was not theirs. Agricultural training was improved by the creation of the workbook. The links between professionals and the world of education were reinforced, and also between European partners, individually and at an institutional level.
