Project Summary
21st century abilities can be created through innovative learning and teaching, especially including successful utilization of technology.Cellphones, for example, iPad or tablet spread quickly in today's web society. A rising trend of their use can likewise be seen in school, albeit most nations in Europe are as yet inadequate as far as mobile applications use. More than that, despite the fact that a few schools have been supplied with the suitable devices, the educators are not generally prepared in a way they should utilize these tools and they frequently prove useless.
The motivation behind why we have designed this project is that we need to observe different schools in European nations, and the way and degree to which mobile learning and innovation are incorporated into the learning-teaching process. Additionally, since a small portion of the school just start to get to know this technology based process of teaching, it is basic that we shed some light on the huge variety of mobile applications and web 2.0 devices.
OBJECTIVES
Through the project exercises created both locally and transnationally, we focused on the accompanying targets for educators
to gain/enhance knowledge of mobile apps, Google tools
to enhance digital capability
to work on using digital devices
to expand their trust in utilizing technology in their classroom
to build up their sense of initiative and creativity
to create collaboration skills and communication aptitudes
to enhance their insight into different societies
Through the activities we chose, we likewise focus on a set of objectives for the recipients of our activities, the students
to enhance for educational purposes digital proficiency
to increase their inspiration for learning
to create collaboration skills and communication aptitudes
to build up their sense of initiative and creativity
to work on using digital devices and mobile applications for educational purposes
to interface with their schoolmates and share with them their experiences
to enhance intercultural competence and cultural awareness.
ACTIVITIES
LTTA1, short-term joint-staff training – course on the use of mobile devices, apps, and Google tools for educational purposes
LTTA 2 was a student exchange with the theme “Google tools and their use in the classroom.”
LTTA3 was a student exchange that follows the same procedure as LTTA2. The topic was web 2.0 tools and mobile apps for collaborative learning
LTTA4 was a student exchange with the theme “web 2.0 tools and mobile apps for content creation”
LTTA5 was a student exchange with the theme “web 2.0 tools and mobile apps for assessment”
LTTA6 was a student exchange with the theme “game-based learning”.
Before each student exchange, every country prepared an activity which applied to students.
PARTICIPANTS
The task included two primary target groups – teachers and students. Students were16-17 old and they were of either vocational or general education schools. At the target group there were both girls and boys. These students was the selection pool for all the exchanges. In every country 20 of them took part directly in the transnational events, and the others participated at the intensive activities that was held after the exchanges.
Teachers participated in LTTA1 3/country and in the alternate exchanges 2/country, either as beneficiaries in LTTA1 or as accompanying teachers in LTTA2-6.They were mainly IT,science, language, maths teachers, and from different subjects too.
IMPACT
Students and teachers got hands-on experience in utilizing mobile applications and tools in the learning and teaching process, clearly profit the whole school, as they turned out to be more dynamic and competent in the use of technology in classroom. Classes turned out to be more interactive and both students and teachers became more motivated and engaged in the educational procedure.Every one of these advantages beared consequences for the whole school through dissemination of exercises and results of the project. Because of these,we made the use of modern technologies in teaching process, more attractive for teachers. Schools therefore increased their readiness for the 21st century requests and demands, became more appealing to students in their school area and created partnerships with institutions of the technological field
RESULTS
We created both intangible and tangible results. Participants became more motivated, more digitally proficient and as a result of this more engaged in the learning-teaching process. Schools became more attractive for students, more capable to educate students ready for the 21st century.Tangible results consist of reports about the utilization of G-tools and mobile apps in the learning – teaching process, toward the start and toward the finish of the project.
