Project Summary

Project “Doing Business together” was created due to the lack of entrepreneurship and entrepreneurial competencies in curricular and extracurricular programs in schools in the Kutine. The biggest problem is in the young population. In Kutina, in late February of 2015, there were 6,167 unemployed persons, of which 716 were unskilled and with uncompleted primary school, 1,370 persons with completed primary school, 2,166 persons with high school education to 3 years education and qualified and high-qualified workers,1,450 people with 4 years high school education and more, 103 high school graduates, 219 first degree and higher stage students, 143 faculty members, academics and graduates. Because of that it is needed to encourage changes and influence the development of entrepreneurial competencies,transversal skills and the use of IT tools as early as possible to change the thinking and access to the labor market and lead to entrepreneurship development and increase self-employment.Project objective was “By active teaching methods and educational workshops, it helps to develop entrepreneurial competences of teachers and students in primary schools as future stakeholders of the local economy and encourage the introduction of entrepreneurship into the Croatian education system.Partner’s choice was based on the cooperation that the city has with the selected partner city of Dimitrovgrad from Bulgaria.Dimitrovgrad is an industrial city that needs necessary changes, as well as the town of Kutina. Other partners are PS Vladimir Vidrić, School Lyuben Karavelov, PS Aleko Konstantinov, Nikola Šubić Zrinski University, RA Mrav, Center for Children and Youth Dimitrovgrad.Partner organizations are selected on the basis of their representativeness.Through the project,1 intellectual result was made, it was the Manual of the implementation of the curriculum of the student’s cooperatives.3 activities of learning, teaching and training were carried out.One is directed to teachers and two to students. In the education of adults “Train the Trainer” 15 teachers participated while 18 pupils participated in the school education. Teachers and students have raised their entrepreneurial competencies and digital skills.Number of innovative activities (eTwinning,Moodle2,OER,Nikola Tesla) has been developed through the project, which has become part of the regular education system.Conference was held which was used for dissemination of the activities and project results and thus of the prepared Manual.The achieved project results are:
1. Established cooperation between local self-government units
2. Trained teachers to maintain workshops on entrepreneurship and developed entrepreneurial competence of teachers
3. Developed digital skills and entrepreneurial competences of students acquired through informal learning
4. Enterpreneurship in School(curriculum)
Through Result 1.a cooperation of local partnerships with the partner city Dimitrovgrad has been made, for the development of digital skills, entrepreneurship and lifelong learning.Focus has been made on the exchange of plans between the two cities and their schools for the development of entrepreneurship in educational institutions.This result enabled the establishment of a foundation for better dialogue between the institutions of the City as well as improving cooperation with the exchange of praxis and skills at the international level.Transnational cooperation brings this project added value.Through Result 2,it has been influenced on the improvement of the existing skills of teachers and with it, the impact expanded on the students, which enabled the qualitative and quantitative increase of entrepreneurial content and programs in formal education.With the result, a sensibilization was made by teachers for the introduction of new methods of work and learning that enable better acquisition of entrepreneurial knowledge,attitudes and competences.Through Result 3,the knowledge acquired by the teachers was transferred to the students in schools.Through physical and virtual mobility, students will the transferred knowledge of the teachers apply to concrete practical examples.The focus is put on higher utilization and usability of IT tools in entrepreneurship for the development of digital skills and entrepreneurial competences of students. Students who were involved in the project,developed digital competencies and communication in a foreign language, social and civic competences.The advantage of using virtual mobility is demonstrated by not excluding young people with physical disabilities or young people with lower socio-economic status.Through Result 4 the project results were applied in the curriculum supplement.Teachers by participating in the curriculum find a way to introduce information and communication technology and entrepreneurship as a method of learning in everyday teaching.This is how the curriculum has been modernized and entrepreneurship has been raised to a higher level.
