Project Summary

Show me how you speak is a global two year-echange program in between students who enter their secondary education, to prevent drop out in foreign languages specially for students with learning disabilities.

During the first year, students will be corresponding with a penpal within each partner schools and build linguistic material together, and in the second year they will be spending one week at each partner school. Referent teachers will be accompanying the students on their exchange in the partner schools.

Our schools take diversity at heart and welcome many students with special needs, from learning disabilities to mental and/or health issues. Acknowledging those students have a much higher risk of dropping out in foreign languages, we thought of different didactics. Our students in general have a very low level in foreign languages because they don’t see the concrete interest, as they never experienced or planned international mobility.

Furthermore, those students are already enrolling in a secondary education directed toward a career in food&beverage or hospitality. Given that professional project, they could really benefit from an exchange, giving them the keys to their future multicultural work environment and clients.
