Project Summary

“ATTRACTIVE SCHOOLS – HAPPY STUDENTS – BETTER LIFE” is a strategic partnership designed by 5 primary schools from different Europeans countries (Romania, Italy, Macedonia, Greece, Poland).
Together we analyzed the needs of our students: pupil’s well-being, motivation to participate actively in educational activities. The main aim of the project is to increase the organizational capacity to develop competencies and life skills for students.
Objectives: O1. Developing the capacity to organize interdisciplinary activities for at least 8 teachers (primary school) from partner schools, during the first 8 months of the project.
O2. Creating one common strategy with partner schools on the development of key competences
among pupils in the primary cycle, based on attractive cross curricular activities, during 10 month.
O3. Developing linguistic, cultural, social, inter relational skills for pupils participating in the project (aged 8 -16 years), from partner schools, during 15 months.
Target groups: primary school teachers and primary school children.
Expected effects: developing the interrelation skills, communication competences in foreign language, acceptance of the values of others; increasing the attractiveness of the school to reduced early school leaving; better learning outcomes; better integration into society; nondiscrimination.
The 6 main activities:
C.1.“Let’s see how teachers can make the school more attractive”: mobility for teachers. The participants will develop the capacity to organize interdisciplinary and fun activities for students, observing how the activities are done in an Italian school making together a guide for attractive activities and a plan for a common strategy to improve the key competences at the students through fun activities.
C.2.”Paint your favorite destination”: mobility for students. This European experience will help them to develop linguistic, cultural, social, inter relational skills by designing an innovative touristic album.
C.3.”Let’s talk about accommodation”: mobility for students. They will develop the
inter relational skills, critical thinking by cross curricular activities, comparing and describing the quality of different kind of accommodation.
C.4.”Christmas in Europe”: mobility for students. They will discover Christmas traditions and customs in different countries. They will develop the cultural and social skills, becoming more tolerant to others` values.
C.5.”Restaurant and food industry in tourism”: mobility for students. They will exercise communication skills in English, use information about their culture and national
traditions, by making national dishes.
C.6.”School into the wild”: mobility for students. Students will exercise their communication skills in English, use the information about the Romanian culture, national and local natural environment, they will use their knowledge about the wild species of plants and animals, space orientation, will observe nature and biodiversity and promote environment preservation.
As impact, teachers will be more prepared to conduct interesting and fun activities, schools involved in the project will become more attractives, their study offer will be more correspondant with students` needs, the parents will be more confident in the capacity of the school to develop better skills to their children. The teachers that participated at the mobilities will become resource persons. After the end of the project the documents and the products made will be use in extracurricular activities or as didactic materials.
Students gain confidence in them and develop their aspirations. Diminishing communication barriers between teachers and pupils. Social inclusion of students from disadvantaged backgrounds. Increasing interest in the use of media, IT-related methods. Diminishing the feeling of marginalization and opening up to other forms of culture. Develop communication skills in other languages ​​and contexts. Familiarize students with attractive activities to help them express their ideas. Improving the cultural level through the exchange of international experience. Increasing the confidence of parents and local community in the capacity of the school to prepare students to face a changing future. The development of critical thinking, both through interactions between school group members, but also between our school students and those in other countries. Vicarious learning – through discussions, joint activities with students from other cultures, with other educational backgrounds, familiar with other organizational systems and knowing other learning ways, pupils will involuntarily internalize new concepts, will have another perspectives to life.
The well-being of the pupil at school will be improved.
Students will be more satisfied, teachers more prepared, schools will have long term resources, including after the project end.
