Project Summary
Thanks to the project, we meet the constantly changing political and economic situation in the partner countries. Actions are necessary to support the school staff in the development and application of innovative teaching methods. The project would be valuable experience for students who come from extremely even environments. Poland – the most homogeneous country of nationality in Europe. Turkey and Greece – various countries facing the challenge of integrating refugees and immigrants. This partnership will increase the awareness of participants and recipients about the refugee crisis in Europe. This contrast will open the minds of students to individual, social, religious and ethnic aspects.
The project assumes the following goals:
• improvement of the results of students achieving results below the average in mathematics,
• the use of innovative and collaborative practices by teachers in an intercultural context:
• strengthening cooperation between all members of school communities, as well as with families and other people outside schools;
Specific objectives:
• Supporting the development of key competences
• Supporting the development of media literacy and critical thinking
• teaching in a cultural context;
• developing skills in the practical application of mathematics
• development of the team of partner schools,
• counteracting early leaving, support for students from disadvantaged groups
• Cooperation on innovative teaching methods
• improvement in assessment and quality assurance.
As part of the project, we have planned three short-term trainings for employees of partner schools and three short-term exchanges of groups of students within two years. According to this plan, each partner organization organizes two types of mobility (for employees and students) in its host country and sends participants to partner countries.
Project activities assume:
C1 a short-term training program for employees in Poland – Zespół Szkol w Dabrow Bialostocka
C2 short-term exchange of student groups in Poland – Zespół Szkol in Dabrowa Bialostocka
C3 short-term training program for employees in Greece – 1st Lyceum of Ierapetra
C4 short-term exchange of student groups in Greece – 1st Lyceum of Ierapetra
C5 short-term training program for employees in Turkey -Ibrahim Ozaydin Mesleki ve Teknik Anadolu Lisesi
C6 short-term exchange of student groups – Turkey Ibrahim Ozaydin Mesleki ve Teknik Anadolu Lisesi
Methodology – didactic and field games, group exercises, discussion, multimedia presentations, exchange of experiences and good practices, reflection, project method, individual and group work, language animation
In the project, together with our partners, we plan to achieve the following results:
a) Hard results:
• publication on innovative methods of teaching mathematics published in English. The publication will consist of original ideas of partner school teachers. All of them will be tested during the exchanges of a group of students, and the time to prepare them will be devoted during the training of the staff.
• implementation of 3 activities disseminating project results by partner organizations among other teachers
– organizing a summary conference in each partner country available to all interested parties
• implementation of 3 project activities carried out by students at the local level in each partner country
• participation of 27 pupils + 6 carers from each country in 3 short-term exchanges of a group of students
• participation of 9 teachers from each country in 3 short-term training for employees
• Mobility participants will present in their own form the effects of work and own achievements for the school and local community
b) Soft results:
– there will be an increase in intercultural competences among host families
– there will be an increase in motivation among the staff that is struggling with occupational burnout and limited development opportunities at the international level
– the motivation of students to learn mathematical subjects will increase
– increasing awareness of the culture of partner countries, their political situation and education system
In the longer term, the project will contribute primarily to the application of modern teaching practices in everyday work. Schools will improve their image and participants: key competences, exchange experience and good practices, will increase intercultural awareness, strengthening of international partnership, development of host families, closer ties and a sense of common interest, all partners will gain valuable project management experience within the Erasmus + program . The project will affect the development of the local community.
