Project Summary

The Erasmus+ VAN project develops an educational purpose: To transform all our partnerships schools centers and implement an innovative methodology related to art, creativity, critical thinking and emotional education.

We advocate a modifying perspective to internationalize our schools, seeking the dissemination of a coherent educational program from the school’s own curriculum. Likewise, the knowledge of this VAN project is promoted within our community, region and country, as well as outside of it and contiguous to other communities, countries and partners of the European Union.

These aspects are going to be subdued at the same time with the integration and inclusion of all the students, regardless of their origin and family conditions. In this sense, the faculty of teachers reflects on redirecting educational programs and establishing a common methodological framework.

Thus, the need to depart as coordinators of the project, is complemented by the seminars that are being carried out in the schools, some of them related to Emotional Education and the others with Art Education.

As a summary of our objectives we will point out that the main aim we want to achieve with the VAN project is:
To develop the individual intellectual capacities of students in collective learning spaces, while promoting Integration, the development of emotions through the approach of Emotional Intelligence bringing diversity to everyone, regardless of their origin, religion or belief and getting it through one of the best propitious subjects for integrating all the pupils, the Art subject.

All the members of teachers and headmisters and Headmistress participate, so to undertake a K229, will facilitate and improve the methodological transformation, extending quality training and seeking successful results in the teaching and learning process, both of school children and teachers. Parent´s Associations collaboration is also avalaible and strenght this project for motivating our pupils in being part of an european project.

On the other hand, our center has already a previous experience and contacts in the participation and request of European projects, such as Comenius Regio.

As it has been pointed out in all the VAN Project, most of the partners ( Istituto Comprensivo Di Fontanellato e Fontevivo, Falkoping Mössebergsskolan, St. John´s N.S. Breaffy, , CEIP Seis de Diciembre de Alcobendas,) have already participated in European projects before and we are eager to be part of the new project. We are looking forward to continue to grow and expand the scientific field in educational innovation, so continuing with old partners is a very enriching task. St. Angelas school and Borsigwalder Grunschule are eager too to participate.

Thus, we encourage intercultural dialogue, contributing to the awareness of the importance of our cultural heritage, as that of our partners. and training in emotions allows an integral development of the abilities of the students. Precisely, this purpose invites to promote different collaborative approaches with the possibility of involving new partners and being part of this project VAN Erasmus + 229.

This project opens up a new field of knowledge and educational innovation within the European framework, becoming aware of the participating partners at three levels:
1. Curricular level.
2 . Methodological level
3. Cultural level.

The meetings in the different countries will facilitate a work of job shadowing that allows to know the European Educational Systems and the methodologies used in each one of them. The VAN project fosters an educational cultural enrichment for each participating partner and their school community, while at the same time, generates a transformation and internationalization of education in all the participant schools.

The planned activities are going to achieve the objectives through the use of ICT for communicating.
Creativity will be promoted in the Art class encouraging our pupils to work in an integrating and cooperative way by activities like a logo´s creation, a travel Diary, painting collective artistic works about emotions and famous European Artists masterpieces, illustrating an Emotions Decalogue and creating a school Museum .
The teacher´s staff will do an extensive research task about how to work Emotional Intelligence. On the other hand, they will compare the different Art subject curricula to elaborate a Guideline for working this area in an innovating way and introducing the European Cultural Heritage.

Art Guideline, an Emotional Intelligence Decalogue and the creation of a Museum inside each school are our main results and productions proposed in this VAN Project.

All the results will be published in educational journals for an important dissemination ( Consejería de Educación de Madrid publishing. local magazines like Gazzeta Di parma , Falkoping magazine, etc.), with the purpose of increasing the connections and formative networks.
