Project Summary
The project “The use of modern technologies in mathematical and natural sciences” assumed the exchange of good practices, between the Municipal School Complex No. 5 in Gorlice and schools from Croatia, Romania and Iceland. It was based on the same school needs and the following project objectives were based on them: The following objectives were executed:
– It was increased the use of modern technologies on mathematics and natural sciences
– It was raised learning outcomes in the above-mentioned subjects thanks to the used of extracurricular classes and IT classes.
– They were implemented of modern methods and forms of education in the field of IT.
– They were adapted working methods based on IT to students’ cognitive abilities and social conditions/de-favor groups/
– It was increased students’ interest in acquiring knowledge and skills in the above-mentioned subjects, based on IT.
– The possibilities offered by IT were creatively used.
– They were improved cognitive and analytical skills of students, useful in the above-mentioned subjects based on IT-based didactic games,
– They were searched and collected information on a given topic in the field of above-mentioned sciences based on IT.
– It was processed data into charts in the above-mentioned sciences based on IT.
– They were equalized educational opportunities of students in the field of the above subjects through the use of IT.
– They were increased student communication capabilities on the international arena based on IT
– It was improved the ability to use English in practice
– They were developed the following competencies: openness, tolerance, empathy, communication, entrepreneurship, learning from each other, learning through experience, time management, based on group work – including international.
– It was increased interest in the cultural diversity of Europe
– It was strengthened the competence of teachers by strengthening knowledge and skills in the field of IT.
– It was increased knowledge about climate zones in Europe.
The level of acquired knowledge and competences was assessed as a percentage, on a scale of 1-6, based on interviews and observations of conducted activities. Their average increase was: by at least 75%, 4 – on a scale of 1-6 The participants reached a high level of satisfaction thanks to the implementation of the project and the project was a response to the needs of participants and school facilities.
