Project Summary

This Erasmus+ KA229 school project of exchange of good practices entitled “The Non-Formal and the Digital Classrooms for Inclusion” (2018-2020) involves schools in four different European countries: Romania (coordinator), Turkey, Poland and Italy (partners). All the project schools face the problem of school failure (poor school attendance, disruptive behaviour, lack of motivation, poor school results, risk of early school leaving) among their students.
By this project, we want to decrease the number of the classes missed by the students in all the partner schools by 20 %, to reduce the number of the misbehaviour acts among our students by 25 % , and to improve the school results of our students by 15 % by the end of the project.
These objectives will be attained by non-formal and digital activities carried out by 6 teachers of different specialities and 30 students (both successful and at risk of school failure) directly involved in the project in each participating country.
The activities will be both local and transnational: non-formal activities (games meant to turn the group into a team, songs, dances, sports, drama/forum theatre, photography, etc) and digital activities (the effective use of the web 2.0 tools in the classroom to create joint results – a storyjumper book and workbook, a collection of non-formal games, photo albums, posters, Kahoot games, 15 digital lessons, etc).
The concrete results of our project will be: a Storyjumper (e)book and (e)workbook on the project key-topics including text, images, soundtrack, voice, the website/eTwinning Twinspace of the project, the project song and logos on social inclusion, non-discrimination and other moral values, project topic-related videos, posters, leaflets, photo albums, digital maps, presentations, the project theatre play and scenographies, a set of 15 digital lessons on different topics and school subjects, Kahoot games on the project topics: tolerance, non-discrimination, inclusion, succes in life, education, friendly school, friendship, etc., the project travelling diary.

The methodology used will include: playing games, role playing/the forum theatre method, debating, conversation, mind mapping, brainstorming, problem solving, etc.
Participants will have the chance to meet face to face and online, to know each other, to speak English, to learn common words and phrases in the mother tongues of the participants, to work, play and solve problems together, to share their experience and good practices, to feel important and also part of a larger European non-discriminating group. They will develop their 21st century competencies and skills: communication, collaboration and information skills, cross-cultural skills, ICT skills, critical thinking, etc. Students are expected to have a much better attitude to school and learning in every possible way. At the end of this project, they will have better school results, a better school attendance, a higher level of motivation, a stronger self-esteem and respect for the others, and in this way they will have more chances to become valuable students and future successful citizens.

The involved schools will also develop their expertise in the Erasmus+ Key Action 2 field of strategic partnerships, thus being able to spread their knowledge and also apply for other grants of the kind when the situation asks for it.
