Project Summary

With You, With Everybody is a 24-month project on inclusion and integration since these are the challenges that our society has been tackling for some time now without not quite managing to come to a solution. Cultural diversity is constantly increasing and therefore a new and dynamic society needs to keep an open mind on the concepts of diversity and on all the values that diversity brings with it. A further motivation to pursue these objectives derives from the fact that 2018 marks the 70th anniversary of the writing of the Universal Declaration of Human rights (10/12/1948). Schools are amongst the main educational agencies and it is their duty to plan and promote an environment careful of the rights and needs of everybody and suitable for everybody.
It is necessary to share communal objectives for all the countries and all the individuals and create a path leading to sustainability.
We mean to turn our efforts to those specific areas:
-students with special needs;
-students belonging to Roma families;
-students from deprived backgrounds
-immigrants.
Students and teachers from the five partner schools, Castelfidardo (Italia), Melissi (Greece), Móstoles (Spain), Barrows-in-Furness (U.K.) and Klaipėda (Lithuania) will work towards the achievements of the following objectives: recognition of diversity in its several forms; recognition of the collectivity as an environment promoting everybody’s rights; creation of an intercultural dialogue; creation and promotion of identity in a multicultural context; removal of barriers hindering intercultural dialogue; active collaboration amongst the participating subjects.
The partner schools have been chosen on the basis of:
-type of school, with specific interest for the themes of inclusion and integration
-geographycal position: the chosen schools are located in countries that covers Europe from the east to the west and from north to south;
-motivation to invest in international projects.
Amongst the concrete results:
-teaching and development of intercultural competencies,
-creation of spaces and structures to promote integration and inclusion,
-exchange of good practices and methodological strategies for inclusion,
-creation of a permanent project blog,
-sharing of experiences after each mobility,
-creation of a project logo,
-creation of a song,
-creation of cartoons,
-creation of a slogan,
-organization of “Theme Days”, for example ‘Happy School Day – every child has a right to education’ on Children”s Rights Day on 20th November,
-creation of a short video (“Inclusion and Integration Adventures”),
-mise-en-scène of a theatrical performance.
One of the focus of the project is to involve students which has fewer opportunities and facing different difficulties and obstacles, such as: social obstacles, economic difficulties, cultural obstacles.
Our schools have been discussing about those difficulties and the support we could provide to those group of students. About social obstacles, activities with social inclusion focus will be put-in-act in order to face and facilitate the inclusion of the target group focusing on establish self-esteem by aimed actions carried during the activities delivering and with the support of the teachers. Will be a similar action for avoid cultural difficulties, the activities carried out will focus on cultural inclusion giving the possibility to the students which are facing this kind of difficulties giving the opportunity to go beyond the differences; again, the teacher will play a key role on encourage cultural equality among students. The project itself, as international project will also help to raise the equality value among the students. Regarding students living in deprived economic status, will get help from the project itself since many actions are supported by the budget (such mobilities).
The skills acquired by teachers and school staff and students, through the comparison with European colleagues and external experts, through joint staff training events and short term mobilities, will remain forever in the personal and professional background of the participants.
It is the will of the partners involved in the project to tighten a lasting and constructive collaboration and ensure the evolution and consolidation of the project, in two ways: replicating activities and actions, already learned, or invent new ones.
The dissemination of the project will take a key role for the project’s lifecycle. The strategy will be adopted aiming on three main target groups where the project will spread its impact: students, teachers and families, local and national institutions, the general public.
The dissemination activities (the regular updates of each partner’s school websites and the project blog, the involvement of families, local authorities and community) will improve the knowledge of the European Dimension of education, in the consideration that schools need to be open to dialogue, cooperation and transnational condivision.
