Project Summary
The Evangelical-Lutheran Institute for Providing Pedagogical Professional Ser-vice and Postgraduate Education (EPSZTI) submits the application titled “Coop-eration Network for Building New Chances”, together with three partners, in the form of a strategic partnership. Our consortium partners are:- SOS 90 Foundation for Children (Hungary) – Hungarian Teachers’ Association of Romania (RMPSZ) (Romania)- Ternipe Association (Slovakia)Being a church institution, EPSZTI regards its participation in anti-segregation pro-cesses a missionary aim. We pay particular attention to the improvement of the pro-fessional-methodological competencies of the educators in the 43 schools main-tained by the Evangelical-Lutheran Church. We have prepared strategic documents and professional recommendations to facilitate the reduction of early school leaving.SOS 90 Foundation for Children, having maintained Kedvesház (Cherish Home) for 20 years now, offers a live practice and methodological description with the title Kedveskönyv (Cherish Book) about a distinctive and effective advantage-building program.RMPSZ (Hungarian Teachers’ Association of Romania) regularly organizes Bólyai Academy, the largest educator forum in the Carpathian Basin, where the ways and possibilities to support disadvantaged students have been dealt with on several oc-casions.As a non-governmental organization, Ternipe Association has remarkable experi-ence in providing learning support and promoting chances for Romani pupils. Each of the consortium partners have specific experience in the development of the methodology for teaching DA-background, Multiplied DA-background and/or Romani children. In the framework of our project an intellectual product is going to be published, which is a professional publication titled “Cooperation with families”. The publication is going to be created together with the partners, in four languages (English, Hungarian, Slo-vak, Romanian), and will be available on our website. The main aim of the strategic partnership in the unique East-Central European area is to promote innovative developments with existing empirical support. Our goal is to create methodologies and professional materials together, with the help of which teachers and representatives of other sectors concerned can deal with the DA-background, Multiplied DA-background and/or Romani children more effectively.Major steps for implementationThe four organizations establish the framework of cooperation, sustainable in the long run, even beyond the scope of the project.- 7 meetings between partners will be organized in the partner countries.- 75 people will take part in 60-hour training courses. Successful participants will be given certificates and Europass mobility passports.- 90 people (teachers, parents, social workers) will take part in professional workshops.- A book with the working title “Cooperation with Families” will be published in four languages (English, Romanian, Slovak and Hungarian), electronically available on the website.- The book mentioned above will be printed in 300 copies in Hungarian lan-guage with an English summary.- 3 multiplying events will be held with a total of 300 participants.- A Central-Eastern European developmental network will be established, which will continue to work after closing the project.- A website will be created, where organizations dealing with DA and/or Roma integration can share good practices and use as a forum for professional dia-logues.ResultsThe results of the project will reach approximately 6000 people in the 3 years of the project. In the long term we expect that the four partners will maintain their coopera-tion. In addition, the number of early school leavers and dropouts will decrease in the schools which use the methods developed, the good practices shared and the intel-lectual product created in the project.
