Project Summary
• Project context
Erasmobility is a platform initially developed by the CIPFP La Costera to promote internship exchanges between professional training centres in Europe.
Thanks to the project approved by the SEPIE, this platform has now become international and with the experience and support of its European partners the website is being changed to reflect an international perspective.
The work of our partners in spreading the word has been equally important in making this a useful tool.
The final goal is to increase the number of student and teacher exchanges in the sphere of professional training based on a philosophy of mutual aid between centres.
• Objectives
The project’s first objective has been to perfect the pre-existing platform that teachers at the CIPFP La Costera had developed in order to promote internships between European professional training centres.
Three considerable improvements have come out of the reflection of both partners and users:
1- A multilingual website (in Spanish, English, French and Italian) designed to facilitate searching for partners who can help manage teacher and student exchanges.
2- A registration process in which centres can explain their specialties, and a search tool in which all centres appear whether or not they offer exchanges.
3- A website that leaves collaboration between centres open, that is, that enables for other kinds of assistance beyond the exchange.
With respect to the diffusion of the platform, the proposed figure of centres to be registered has been exceeded, with 230 centres in Spain, 22 in France, 13 in Italy and 9 in the UK, as of 31st October.
Indeed, we have also seen initially unexpected outcomes, thanks to the support of organizations did not at first figure in the project. Erasmobility now has centres signed up in Belgium, Lithuania, Germany, the Netherlands, Romania, and more.
• Number and profile of participant organizations
The profile of the participant organizations involved in the process has basically been that of the professional training centre. There were three in the project:
– Lycée Barthélémy Thimonnier.
– AFP Colline Astigiane.
– CIPFP La Costera.
But we now have the invaluable support of other professional training centres such as the Go Scholengroep (Belgium) or the Colegiul Alexe Marin (Romania). Moreover, to help us spread the word we’ve relied on two regional educational organisms: the Valencian Ministry for Education and Colleges Wales.
Finally, the banking institution Bankia by way of the Bankia Foundation has been our partner responsible for guaranteeing the sustainability of the project once European funding is finalized.
• Description of main activities undertaken
Studying the initial website promoted by the CIPFP La Costera to propose improvements to be carried out by IT specialists.
Creation and translation of texts into various languages.
Having photos made for the website.
Trial phase.
Preparation of exchange proposals to publish on the website by partners who are genuinely able to make them.
Preparing informational material.
Meeting in Italy, France, the UK and Spain to get word of the website to local centres.
Diffusion of the website using channels devised by centres.
Development of a Facebook page.
Fresh analysis of the platform, proposals for the future
Writing up of the platform’s sustainability agreement between partners.
• Results and impact achieved
We have already mentioned how the figure for registered centres put down in the application form – just 47 – has been well-exceeded with more than 346.
We think also relevant is the number of exchange proposals that centres have published. That is, when a centre, beyond signing up, proposes an offer of an exchange. Well, we currently have 185 standing proposals.
Furthermore, to assess indirect impact (an increase in the number of exchanges), a survey has been passed to centres with concrete exchange proposals.
We find that 57.1% of centres have established contact with another centre and that some 30% have make concrete steps to initiate collaborative projects.
• Long-term benefits
Without doubt this will be to bring about an increase in the number of exchanges carried out by professional training centres based in a philosophy of mutual aid.
We equally aim to create synergies with other platforms coming out of KA2 projects, such as Talented Europe, in order to develop a project that enhances the profile of Erasmus+ exchange students while making them more employable.
